Gotta be a manual which limits options. For me would be an Evora GT. Had one for a weekend and while the fit and finish is a long way off a 911, the driving experience is really rewarding. Considering swapping out of my 991.1 C4S and into an Evora GT. It’s objectively a worse car but I love the raw experience. I have a Caterham coming in the next month so might change my mind once I have something totally pure in the garage alongside my comfy 911.

I think many of us came from M cars. I will prob. go back to M if Porsche stops selling cars in US.
Had E36, E46, E90, F80 M3s, E70 X5M, F10 M5 before and as I'm not a big fan of large cars, I will prob. go back to M3 (and somehow deal to live with their new grille deign).

I'm only in a 911 because I wrecked my S2 Exige on the track. I never intended to lose/sell the car, so never planned on anything else, unless I could afford a 4th car. The wife decided my track days (unless its a dedicated car) are behind me so I went with the capable, but comfy 911. But if Porsche didn't exist I would be in either a C8 or Evora GT.

Not a BMW, that's for sure. It has even less soul than a Porsche. The lack of soul was true of my first Porsche 911 when I bought it new in 1967 and it's still true with my 2021 Cayman. It's a German thing I suppose. Nothing wrong with the cars. Porsche makes a really fine car, but it's not all things to all people.
The only car I've ever owned that I miss is my Ferrari 360 Modena. It was too new to bring with me when I left Italy to move to the U.S. so I had to sell it.
It had great looks, exciting performance, and the hard-to-describe thrill associated with a Ferrari. You really have to own one to understand how special these cars are. It has all the passion my 2021 Porsche lacks. Even using the iconic gated shifter is a thrill.

Side story, I recently traded my E90M3 for an E92 M3. Ive had an E90M of some sort in my life for the last 10 years or so. GT350/R was one car I was looking at amongst a couple others (M2/M2C/E92M3/F10M5) and narrowed it down back to the E92M3 and the GT350 for daily commute. But after getting a friends GT350 for a weekend I started to hate all the interior odds and ends that I decided I couldnt live with it due to that and oil burning issues that car is known for. Would you live with a crappy interior but the car was superb to drive as a daily. For me V8, both induction and exhaust note, Manual, RWD and styling where high on my list of things to consider.

Lol. Perhaps just some smart spouses! She was 100% right – I think the Evora would have been the wrong car for our purposes. The 911 is incredible to drive, and just works in pretty much all situations. I have my 5yo daughter ride behind my wife sometimes, and it's tons of fun.
