There seems to be so much animosity against the T, it is nice to have two quiet threads on RL to share the love.

Makes sense. I ordered a T instead of a GTS after test drives, etc. Could have ordered either one. I wanted a GT3T but got sick of begging for an allocation and it was getting late in the game to get one.

Which aspects of the T won you over the GTS?

T owner question: is a manual key preferred over entry and drive?

I believe so. Porsche Entry and Drive weights roughly 40lbs. Things that add weight without adding performance are at odds with the T ethos.

I basically just liked the T more. I preferred the narrow body in this specific configuration. There was more noise harshness and vibration in the cabin and overall the T felt more alive and familiar. There was less turbo lag as well and combined with the shorter gears from the S/GTS it has more of a naturally aspirated like sense of urgency. The shorter throw shifter felt better as well.

I also love the look of the T. The titanium trim looks great along with the decals. The interior trim with T package is stunning and IMO was better executed than even the GT3T

The thin, clear glass, while somewhat silly, looks great and further makes the car special.

Thats not to say I don’t also like the GTS. It’s stunning in its own right. But for me the T was a better fit. I also drove a few base and S cars in the buying process.

For me yes. I like the physical act of using the key to start the car. I honestly wish it had a metal key like the 997.2 but I am used to the fob “key” from my 981 ownership.

It is nice to see these threads not getting jumped on by haters now. Wasn't always the case. Not sure if OP was serious, but it would be great to have our own sub. Not going to happen though, we just aren't special enough except in our own minds. It really is cool to bond with all you guys over this car. Either you get it or you don't...

I’m a new T owner and to be honest I’d read all the opinions and was unsure what to think of the T, but I chose one over a GTS too. I looked at and drove both at my local Porsche dealer and despite usually preferring the wide body cars I went with the T there is just something about it.

I traded my 718 GT4 for it and couldn’t be happier (apart from a few rattles which I’ve raised on another post!)

Metal keys are definitely not common nowadays. The entry and drive has the fake key and in theory works the same way as a regular key. Thinking of getting a T but it doesn’t have that option.

Wow I would not have guessed that system weights that much. Makes sense to do without it on a T as it would negate the purpose of all the other things that made the T weigh less.
