Default Indy in Houston

Good morning,

My job is relocating me to Houston soon and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on a quality independent shop in the area. I've got a 991.1 C2S with 33k on the clock. Thanks!

Swiss Garage. I was disappointed with Eurocarwerk.

Houston is big with many good shops. Where is your work located and where do you think you will live?

My 2 favorites are:

Modern Aircooled in the Heights
https://www.modernaircooled.com/
and

Drivers Source on Memorial in the Energy Corridor.
https://www.driversource.com/

Both highly competent and fair.

Funny this thread posted now, I’ve always used Porsche North for all my services but I’m trusting Einer’s garage in the Heights for my next 20k service on my 2018, and hopefully my future 964 project. I’ll let the thread and fellow Houstonians know how it goes.

Thanks for the input gents. I'll be living in the Heights area. Mainly just glad to be back near civilization. Turns out south eastern New Mexico is pretty limited on their Porsche service offerings..

Great location. Lots of new restaurants and bars. West site along 19/20st is congested. There is a coffee and car 1st Saturday every month here

https://www.kingsbierhaus.com/bh-heights/

then good Porsche repair/ maintenance are:
Modern air cooled https://www.modernaircooled.com

Einars garage https://www.einarsgarage.com

https://www.thegaragisti.com

but for track alignment if you do auto cross or DE, Drivers Source is the best for setup

Texas German Autohaus does good work. It’s near 59 (69) and Buffalo Spdway

Einer’s was recommended to me by Porsche West for PPI service. I talked to Einer and he sounded knowledgeable and was very pleasant to talk to.

Einar's is good, Modern Aircooled is good.

I use European Auto Techniks off 1960W though, after trying out a few of the others. Mike is THE man in my book. Give him a shout also.

+1 on Einars garage https://www.einarsgarage.com .

Modern Aircooled could not be arsed to return my voicemail, which is a red line/deal killer/non-starter with me.

Has anyone used German High Tech in Magnolia? I’m looking to have the brake fluid flushed. I’ve always shied away from doing this service myself since it’s a huge mess (for me) and never feel confident it’s done well.

Another great shop is Rennsport in Sealy, just a little west Katy in Sealy (it's a bit further west of H-town).

I’ve had great experiences with Modern Aircooled. Harris has always been very responsive. I’ve had a couple interactions with Warren at Rennsport, all pleasant but he really never seemed interested in getting my business. Once again, never unpleasant but never super helpful. Autodynamica was not super responsive. When I did get ahold of them, they weren’t interested in working on a modified car or working with me to solve my issues. He explained his business model, which was that such efforts take large chunks of time and therefore his ROI suffers. I get it, but not what I wanted to hear.

In summary, of the German car shops in Houston (had both a merc and a Beamer) I’ve worked with and specifically for Porsches (I’m on my 2nd one), Modern AirCooled has been the best.
