Don’t scrap the Bose before you adjust the settings!

It’s not that bad for me. Honestly the biggest upgrade most of these systems need is less background noise and better source material.
Sirius and FM are basically trash, we are left with CD’s and HD streaming as options. I have a few early 90’s CD’s that I feel sound better than newer options. They don’t sound bad in the car.

I have the optional Meridian stereo in my Range Rover Sport with more than 20 built in speakers, so of course I was initially disappointed with the Bose in my 911.
However, I’ve been playing with the sound settings and I feel it has dramatically improved the sound quality. This includes shifting the fader back to just behind the front seats. increasing the base beyond flat (eg +5), checking surround and unchecking linear. I highly recommend you try this before you consider replacing the Bose tuner and/or speakers.

My pleasure. Apparently, the bass and treble level settings are highly subjective and dependent on your choices in music/genre.
Enjoy the mix of the sounds of your 911 combined with your favorite music. This is the amazing experience we all share.

I have pretty high end home stereo and headphone gear (probably worth as much or more than my '12 C2S), so don't necessarily look to have very high quality sound in the car. As long as it sounds OK that's good enough for me. Having said that, the stereo in my '08 M3 is way better than the Bose in the C2S and I do enjoy it. You'd think Porsche could get this right. Go figure.
In the hifi world the saying "garbage in, garbage out" is very relevant and transferable to car stereo. I haven't tried it but as some have said, running hi res downloads into the Bose may yield better results.

Bemo: I am also in CT and if you think its a "fools errand" with no "sweet spot" I invite you to take a listen to my system. I also have a very loud Targa with PSE, Full Kline Exhaust, 200 cell sport cats, headers, tune, etc.
If you think the sound is tough to improve in a coupe, try improving it in a moving car with targa top down. I can listen to great sound at high volumes even with top down. I invite you to PM me for a test.
What everyone who says they want to listen to the sounds of the car I say you can. When I want car sounds I turn off my system and when I want music I turn it on. You dont lose car sound by having a sick stereo system.
And for those of you with a Bose system that thinks it sounds good or even ok... don't listen to a custom system installation in a 911 and you will be happy forever.

I'm glad I have a pair of average ears.
I used to get into all the stereo hifi mumbo-jumbo and all the fact, figures, and graphs..... you name it.
It's a rabbit hole that can get costly.
The last time I was bopping around Nashville and went into a HiFi Buys they had some speakers for $250,000.
