Default Interior Trim Wrap

My 991 has the silver interior trims. I recently replaced the middle console trim with the leather one, but now I'm debating on what to do next.

I have the full leather interior and from what I am reading it's really hard to remove the door trims to get them covered in leather.

If I do the carbon package than I'm left with the side in aluminum.

Thats why I was thinking to have them wrapped in black (I was also thinking white to match the outside but the wife doesn't really like the idea.) .

Now I don't know if anybody wrapped them or if it's even possible, my worry is that it's going to look cheap but I don't see any way around it since the door panels (I almost wish that I had the no leather doors...).

Any previous experience or suggestions would be really appreciated!

Where did you get the middle console trim from?

getporscheparts.com has interior trim pieces including leather. I like the idea of white to match the exterior. I have a Miami Blue 991.2 and was thinking about MB painted interior trim and maybe painted HVAC vents.
Vinyl materials have come a long way and I'm sure there's a high quality material that will suffice.

You can add door spears from db carbon-I think they fit over the factory spears. I know they do on the non leather panels for sure.

Try the wrap, if you don’t like it, peel it off. I think you will like it permitting it’s done well.

I've become kind of an expert on door panels. You can read all you need to know about removing trim and wrapping in my interior thread.
Interior upgrade project.

I'd recommend to try wrapping it with vinyl. It's pretty cheap and easy to do. You can find leather grained wraps that would look good.

If you didn't like your stock silver, I doubt you'll like white. You might want to look at a brushed metal wrap as an alternative. BR230 3m 2080 brushed titanium might be a place to start. Get a sample to see if you like it. $25 for a 5' x 1' roll should be enough.

My wrapped red door trim below.

I'm partial to red.... The dash and console was factory painted. Send me a message if you want to discuss.

If you are intimidated by removing your door panels and drilling out the plastic rivets holding the door trim on here is a how to video of putting vinyl on a tesla dash using knife less tape to trim.

You could probably get away with an xacto knife to trim under the door trim if you are skilled with the knife. I had removed my trim as I was going to paint it. Left it wrapped instead.

I'd recommend removing the cup holder and dash trim to wrap. You'll do a much better job. Do your original console with the same material so it all matches. Leave the doors for last and you'll have enough experience to try without removing them?

Have no plan this for my 991.2 Carrera interior... that being said, it was so interesting to watch the video, especially seeing how to use the tape cuts- not for the faint hearted... I did use 3M wrap for my Matt black headlight trim and it came out quite well... it was easy to do a good job, but like everything else, I wanted a perfect job and that was a bitch... thanks for this...

APA has an exact match for Miami Blue, which is used in my Targa GTS that I sold a couple of weeks ago - if you did not see what I did there are many pics here or send me a PM with your email address: https://amdistributions.com/product/gloss-miami-blue/

One can also get samples from them and they have many colors available.

I would like to try my hand at wrapping my silver trim in either gloss black or brushed black one of these days...

Re: DB....I just received the black carbon fiber trim pieces from DB Carbon. Very nice quality, fitment is perfect. Actual finish is 98% of what I would expect from the factory. Really finishes the door panel off. I’m happy with the results!

I went with DB too.
Satisfied with the results and I also think 98% perfect.
Compare the OEM cupholders and the DB door trim.

I tried to find a picture with white painted trim for reference. Not many out there so it wouldn't be a "popular" choice, but it would be unique.

the brushed silver trim around the shifter on mine reflects the sun in the summer. that's the only piece i'd like to cover or replace.
