Is this the Lava Orange thread?!!

Seriously nice video and article - as a Lava Orange owner - I was hoping for some detailed shots of the interior - I do not have the lava contrast stitching specced and would love to see shots of it.

Congrats..

@MDelaney Now there is a fine display of priorities, Tail of the Dragon AND a road bike on top! And it looks like you're hustling too... (btw, that's a pretty slick carrier, you obviously trust the suction cups with what appears to be a pretty snazzy carbon bicycle).

I'd be happy to take some interior pics, particularly of the stitching. The only one I have on hand is below. I took it on my way home from California. My buddy was driving, and the first stop we make he buys a huge orange energy drink and puts it in the cup holder right over the console. I was sweating bullets until he finished it (and then he was sweating bullets as the caffeine and taurine worked it's way through his nervous system). The orange stitching is subtle, but I think a very nice touch. My truck has orange accenting in the interior as well. Definitely never thought I'd own two cars with orange interiors...

Is there not already a Lava Orange thread? Shall I adjust the title and rebrand it?

I've got a seasucker too, but can't use it on my 911 because it has a ceramic coating and the suction just doesn't hold on that.

The first accessory I bought for my car was this Zokirushi thermos, because I could not deal with the stress of my morning coffee in that cup holder on my drive to work.

That stitching is nice.

Each suction cup is like 220 lbs of hold, and there are 4 in the front and one on the rear wheel - so it’s pretty secure, especially with a clean sunroof and rear window to mount to.

A lava orange coffee mug! I feel a creepy obsession bubbling in my brain... Promise to stop me before I get an orange face tattoo.

Rustler, bold move on the cup holder--I've never put anything in that one and believe it's designed like that because German engineers were pissed off the American marketing folks insisted on cupholders.

Gorgeous color; I essentially had 2 "highly desirable" colors on my short list when I was looking, lava was one of them. You could probably guess the other one by looking at my avatar.

Speaking of which, this and Carmine Red are very similar IMO; Lava is just a lighter shade but arguably "pops" more, especially in direct sunlight (pic in my avatar is in direct sunlight, in case it's hard to tell...). It looks almost like a completely different car in some pics than others. Both colors have that similar effect IMO.

Is the coating applied to the sunroof/rear glass? - or do you not have the sunroof optioned?

The sunroof is there, it's just not a glass sunroof so it got the ceramic coat. The rear glass had some coating on it as well, so it wound up being rather, umm, slick .

I know of 4 other lava orange 911s in the New England/NY area, with 1 of them being a 991.1 GT3, one a 991.1 Carrera 4S, one a 992 Carrera S, and then mine - a 991.2 Carrera S. Mine, however, is the only 7MT of the bunch.
There was another one (lol), a .2 4GTS in a manual, that I now have. But I'm down a few hours south, so it's not up there anymore.

Dammit! That's a 20% increase in numbers. The exclusivity has been so completely ruined!

My first was a 2018 lava GTS4, loved it but the pdk I had convinced myself I would learn to love, fell short, so I ordered a 7MT from the factory in voodoo blue. Loved the lava, great color for a 991 but voodoo (or mexico) was always my fave.

Dude in my neighborhood has a lava boxster, that car looks super crisp, wish I had a pic of it. Anyway, here's my former lava GTS.
