Default Icarsoft V3.0 ? for oil reset

I'm assembling what I need for my first oil change on my 2019 Porsche C4S.
I've done a lot of oil changes on my other cars, but for the Porsche I need an oil reset tool.
I found that Icarsoft now has a V3.0 for Porsche, see Here: https://www.icarzone.us/Product/s-38...hecayenne.html
I can't find it an Amazon.
Can find a lot of references for V2.0 on the internet, but nothing about V3.0
Anybody get a V3.0 recently?

I would be absolutely shocked if the 3.0 can't while the 2.0 can.

Then again, this is the same company that has a POR v1.0, POR v2.0, and POR II. I also don't see the v3.0 actually listed under the Porsche listings on their site, so I'm confused as to how you got to that page to begin with.

There seems to be some info about v3.0 online, but sparse.

I recently bought the iCarsoft CR v2.0 Multi-system unit so I can use on my other cars. While researching, I discovered some info about the v3.0 models but it looks like a drawback is v2.0 allows adding up to 10 car manufacturers while the new v3.0 is limited to 3. If you're only looking at specific make unit (ie. the POR unit), then of course this doesn't apply.

What other cars can v2.0 support? Do you need to buy seperate modules, or does it support different cars out of the box?

I'm trying to find a scanner that will support my current (and future porsches) as well as other cars in the household. Currently the wife has a Q5. I'd like the flexibility of a single scan tool that can support multiple brands.

I just wanted a basic "oil interval" reset tool, so I got this one, $99 on Amazon:

Amazon Amazon

From my post in Feb '20 in the oil change thread:

I started by verifying that my oil service interval needed to be reset. You turn on the ignition, then go to VEHICLE, then INFO, then SERVICE INTERVAL. I'm doing mine a little early to need.

Then I assembled my new Autel unit. It comes with a USB cable, and a data cable. I followed the instructions on the quick setup guide and attached it to my laptop. I then went to the Autel web site and registered the device, and activated my one free code set for "Porsche" (additional code sets are available from Autel). I then down loaded the code set and installed it in the reader. The instructions were fairly clear. This took about 15 minutes. After this, I was all set.

I then located the OBDII port. This is a bit hard to see, but it is in the driver side footwell, upper, tucked under the under side of the dash. The connector looks like this:

After inserting the connector firmly, you turn on the key and the reader starts to set itself up. You have to select the type of Porsche (991 for me):

Then you select the menus to initiate the oil reset (there are a few screens, this is a sample. Basically you follow the prompts)

The most fiddly part I found was that I discovered that for whatever reason, to "reset" the oil service for my car, I had to enter "todays" date in the data entry field.

You do this with a combination of moving the cursor around (it is hard to see the highlighted character, but it works) and hitting "enter" for that digit.

Anyway, once I entered today's date, I hit 'enter' and the reader did its thing.

Other car makers listed in description
here here

Using iCarsoft's Windows app, and iCarsoft device connected to PC, you can select individual car makers you want, and the app will download them and install onto device. No cost. I added 4 onto mine.

Do you have a link to ICarsoft for the downloads? Thx.

Their website is a mess. On the front page they show a V3.0 but when looking further they only show V2.0. The link in the original message is from a website called iCarzone.us. It seems to be a copy of the iCarsoft.us site. Is it legitimate?, can't tell.
I might call them on Monday. In any case Amazon.ca has V2.0 for cheaper than iCarsoft.

My '17 did not reset itself, nor did anything through the MFD allow me to reset it.

Check support&updates on their page for downloads and video.

Agreed, their website is a mess. Their site encryption also has issues. My home firewall decrypts and scans, but I need to disable decrypt and scan when visiting their site.

For folks with ICarsoft POR V2.0 - there is a new update available - V21.01 and V11.45 (see below) https://www.icarsoft.us/Page/103.html
Not sure what are the changes as there are no release notes.

A newer version of the software update tool (3.19) is also available:

Also not clear what are the differences between V2.0 and V3.0, perhaps just the software that can be applied to V2.0??

V3.0 - https://www.icarsoft.us/Product/s-39...hecayenne.html
V2.0 - https://www.icarsoft.com/Product/s-3...ft_POR_V2.html

The page you linked to for V3.0 does not allow buying the unit, the "add to cart" button is disabled!I emailed Icarsoft a week ago and haven't received an answer yet on the availability and differences for the V3.0

Now V3.0 is available on Amazon

Amazon Amazon

Based in the link below HERE’S WHAT HAS CHANGED:

The first change of note is that the iCarsoft V 3.0 is able to conduct actuation tests and auto VIN identity checks whereas the V2.0 OB2 scanner could not. Also there are a number of extra special service functions that relate to a range of systems that include:
  • Airbag crash data resets
  • Active damping control module tests
  • Adaptive speed control systems
  • Instrument cluster module tests

I need one of these tools for an oil change/reset... Wondering if 3.0 is worth buying over the 2.0. Difference is around 50$ it looks like. Not much, just don't want to end up getting one over the other and miss some options.
