35 years. Had a 1984 Triple Black in the 80s, and recently picked up a 2019 C2S MT. I don’t have regrets, but if I did, one would be the years in between where I didn’t have 911. Not everyone will understand, and we shouldn’t expect them to - that’s why we have Rennlist and PCA. Enjoy!

If you are even thinking of this question after having the car a short time, I have a feeling it is not your forever car.

Default When does it wear off

Had my ‘66 912 for 20 years... then an ‘84 Carrera Turbo Look for 25 years... an ‘05 Carrera S for 12 years and now a 991.2 Carrera last month... always brings a smile to my face when people say, ‘Nice ride’... there must be something about having a Porsche...

There’s only a single, sensible solution if and when that so called “feeling” is settling in, get it tuned and you’ll instantly be hooked all over again.

Talking

I believe my wife is jealous of the attention I give to my Porsche. The funny thing is that she caved finally from me talking about buying one, and now that I do have one I seem to be talking about it even more.
She tells me she can't win. Lol

I’m on my 13th 911 and still can’t park it and walk away without turning to look at it. So I guess it doesn’t wear off.

Nope, doesn't wear off, and clearly we're all pretty obsessed... in a good way.

Picked up my 2017 Base Carrera on Jan 2nd. Since then I've put over 3000 miles on it. I always take the long way. I'm still smiling.

It actually becomes stronger. The best way to describe it is how something becomes part of your personality, like your favorite shirt or the trusty old watch you always choose to wear.

Over two years into owning mine and I can tell you that I'm still as excited about it today as I was when I first bought it. For example, my office is ten minutes from home when I drive my GMC but over 30 minutes from home in the 911.

I've had mine for a year and a half now. I am one where the new does wear off and I start looking for something else fairly soon into ownership. 2 years is a long time for me to hold onto a car.

My P feels brand new to me still. I don't drive it a lot (which may help keep the newness fresh), but it's the first car I've ever said that if I get rid of it, I'm getting another Porsche. They are just special!

Even harder when you have 2 at the same time. Not intended as a brag post.
