Carport Project
I have limited storage for my car detailing stuff in my carport closet. For years this was the best I thought I could do:
I already was experimenting here with bringing the water line into the closet instead of wheeling the CR Spotless out every time and hooking it up to the spigot in the courtyard behind the back wall
This is where the CR spotless normally lived.
Then I'd had enough. Partially because leaves blow under the door and under the rack and it's a pain cleaning them out.
Step 1: Everything must come out, including the plywood nailed to the studs. I also replaced the electric outlet because only half of it worked. Lots of profanity involved with that but I eventually figured it out without electrocuting myself or burning the house down.
Step 2: Do all your construction as close to your expensive cars as possible. Kidding...I moved the cars.
Step 3: Installed Gladiator gear wall
Step 4: Mount the CR Spotless using the wall plate I ordered from them
You may noticed that I got the order wrong. I wall mounted the CR Spotless then realized I couldn't demo the plywood beside it, so I uninstalled it. Profanity also involved.
Step 5: Stuff goes back in
Still need to decide whether or not the pressure hose & reel stay on the floor (actually works well down there) or get's mounted on the wall.
So that's it. Well except that I also painted the inside walls because they were just 20 years of gross.
Hopefully you enjoyed this project, I know did.
Next Step: The permit to enclose the car port may be approved late this week (~2-3 month process here in Atlanta). Then maybe 15 minutes after I detail my car in the spring I won't have (as much) pollen on it

Don't know if you are being serious or not, there are a bunch of RL garage threads. A lot will give you garages envy.

I’ve seen people put up these things that look like ship sails to at least provide some protection. Is that an option?

FYI it is -13C today (8F) and blowing a gale... which is why I haven't changed my profile picture in months. I really need a garage that can handle a heavy snow load. Thank you for the sun shade idea. They are stronger than they look.
