Default Base 991.2 Spring Upgrade

Hi Folks, has anyone upgraded the stock springs only? Perhaps to S springs or something else?

Car is experiencing far too much body roll at higher speeds and need to stiffen things up without going coil over.

Already have DSC installed with GT3RS file loaded.

Not interested in dropping car too much from stock due to driveway and speed ramps.

Any advice appreciated.

Sounds like Sport PASM springs are what you need. Stiffer without much of a drop. Past that, it's time to move to Tractive dampers/custom springs or similar. Or a GT3.

I'd avoid any spring that's progressive—having learned the hard way after a number of people recommended them. PASM doesn't know what to do with rising rates, even with DSC. If I keep my Carrera, I will be redoing the springs—though I'll say the only place I find myself wanting more spring is the track…and this just isn't a track day car past 1~ day a year, if that.

Body roll is not only your springs but also sway bar. Maybe better to go to much stiffer sway bars but leave stock suspension, it will be cheaper.

^ Good call, and way cheaper. And easier to play with.

Worth talking to 2-3 good shops to get their input, from factory Sport PASM anti-roll bars to aftermarket stuff. There are some with direct experience on this forum, as well.

sway bars and sway bat bushings is the first thingI would do, no question that would be a huge upgrade regarding body roll

Good call! I don’t suppose you might know where would be a good source to pick these up?

Have dealer quote you with OEM parts. Might not be horrible.

Why wouldn't you just go Bilstein B16?

In the shopping cart for a while now but strategy so far has been incremental improvements and realize there are other areas that will contribute to handling improvements without going coilovers straight away.

An OEM GT3 rear sway bar might be enough. Tarrett has some options too.

It's a rabbit trail though... end links, control arms, camber and camber plates. If you're going down this path because of too much body roll then you are probably a candidate for coilovers and an LSD too
At higher speeds the car can become very unsettled over undulations and bumps especially when already loaded up going through a bend etc.

I realize coils might be the practical solution but would like to address other parts such as sway bars first to see what a difference this makes.

Do you have MT or PDK, you can add LSD to the MT but not the PDK.

Trade the Base for a Carerra T,
SPASM, LSD (with 7 MT), DSC, add sway bars as necessary.
Or, what garfunkle said.

Good luck, keep us posted.
