And So It Goes...

Icebreaker - ^ that’s a great story! Thanks for sharing! I love that your wife went to the track on her own and got hooked. My situation was similar and in fact my husband wasn’t too thrilled about using the car on track initially. He tends to prefer everything perfect and clean and I love driving them and getting them dirty! In that way we are a perfect match!
The 993 is a “keeper” for sure!
Thats quite a snowfall in your avatar!

I was about to post the exact same. My wife has no problems driving a manual but has always had zero interest in these things.

When I met my wife 18 years ago, she had a 2002, Bavaria and 635csi. I had a Volvo station wagon. Now she has a Cayenne and I have an M3. Eventually I will likely replace the M3 with either a 911 Turbo or Panamerica.

My wife drives *my* (they're all ours) 991.1 and 964 all the time. Frankly, I think that's what made her say ok to the 991.2 GT3 I just bought lol. So look at this as an opportunity rather than a reason for heartburn.

This thread cracks me up! I've had my P over a year and still haven't let my husband drive it! And I think he's waiting until I do before he'll let me drive his Hellcat!
But we both drive the crap out of our F-150! Neutral territory if you will! We share everything in life... Except our cars! 🤣

My wife took mine for a test ride one day. She drives stick and came back with a HUGE grin on her face. It was weird watching the car drive away though.

Another wife here. Our 993 & 997 are manuals. The 991 is a PDK. I drive the 997 & 991 as often as I can. Haven't had a chance to drive the 993 yet, as the Hubby has been working on it. Eons ago, I'd jokingly vowed to marry the guy that would teach me how to drive stick & I did! Learned on our '98 E36 M-3, the first car we bought together. We were engaged then. Good times....
I'd love to take a DE class, but life (& now COVID) always seem to get in the way. I will someday soon, though.

Track Day
Icebreaker:
Are you in Nova Scotia? I thought i recognized the track photo as AMP?
If so, once the weather gets nice it would be nice to meet in Chester for a coffee.
My wife grew up driving manual but she says driving the Porsche makes her nervous (we have a 991.2 Carrera t).
