991.2 Targa and Current 992 Targa Production.
So, I get a call from my Dealer asking me if I want to sell my car. We get to talking and he said the 992 Targa Production for all intents and purposes has ceased. There was a single Targa delivered to the US market last quarter and there are none currently in production in the near future.
I suppose people are starting to warm up to the Targa as the dealer said it was by far the hottest model and most difficult to source new as well as preowned. So now that you can't get a 992 Targa, people are looking to the preowned market to try and get one.
Does anyone else have any insight to this or whats going on? I'm not sure I would even sell my Targa for MSRP but, its an interesting thought if I wanted to get into a 992 Turbo S, for example..

? Test drove a brand new targa about 2 weeks ago (992 7 speed manual). They gave me a **** offer on my trade and wouldn't budge off their 180k msrp so I passed. Told them if they let me spec one the way I want ill pay sticker. No response since. Told 3 other dealers the same..... Must be nice to have people willing to pay sticker in a "pandemic" and still not be able to deliver. Smh

Dealer games...they pull stuff like this all the time regarding allocations, colors, etc. My sister went through the same thing when the Escalades came out-dealer said there are no white Escalades in the state...went to another dealer 30 mins away and they had a row of white ones ready to go.

The 991.2 production is concluded and the number of preowned Targas will vary day to day. The issue is 992 production and as far as I can tell, no one has an allocation for the next 6 months at least.
If this is the case I think you will start seeing all of those preowned targa's start to sell off quickly as summer approaches..

I have had my 2019 Targa GTS for just over 2 years and I am still not thinking about selling it, which my wife is amazed at since I usually change every year or two. However, if someone offered me what I paid I would probably sell it since I am still thinking about a 991 Speedster, in Miami Blue of course.

992 Targas - if you can find a dealer with an allocation - will be a one year wait at this time. Cabs and Coupes to be ordered, appx 6 months.

Awesome build. This is the first I’ve seen that I like more than my own. Killer.
Definitely add the Extended Leather to Dash and Sode Panels.
I’d go with the standard PDLS+ lights rather than the LED as others have said. Doing the same even on my own non-money constrained build. Or if you keep them stick with silver rather than black to tie with the Targa bar and exhaust.
I’d also get a manual but if you want PDK I’d consider the optional Aluminum shifter which looks much better (but still a bit dinky).

My dealer contacted me for Targa allocations yesterday, it was for base model and they are expecting one S allocation soon as well. If you like to get connected my vendor, please pm me. Thanks,
