Default My 991.1 C2S

Not everything sucked about 2020. Here is my 991.1 C2S acquired a couple of weeks ago. Silver/Espresso was not a combination that I would have ever specified but I am liking it - a lot. I also wish the car had PSE - but there are options for that down the road. Frankly - it sounds way better than I thought without.

Here's a couple of pics I took today after a bit of clay bar, sealant and Collinite 845 this week.

Welcome to the club! There are a ton of great aftermarket exhausts for the car and I’d recommend you do this ASAP. Personally, I opted to install the PSE in my C2S and it was the best $2,200 I’ve invested in the car. It really should be standard or part of the Premium package. You will not be disappointed.

Default PSE

Suncoast has the kit for $1,600 and probably the best for resale down the road. Enjoy!

Congratulations on a fine acquisition. I like the color combo and you'll have lots of fun with the car, more so with the PSE.

Congrats! I was fortunate enough to also purchase a 991.1 this year and it’s been an amazing car. Mine was ordered with PSE and sport chrono and that combo is fantastic. The PSE really brings a whole different personality when activated.

Enjoy your new 991.1 S. I have a Tubi Exhaust for sale that fits your car over in the Classified Section for half the price of new. Sounds much nicer than any PSE system without being obnoxious if you are interested.

Thanks - I thought it was going to be in the $3-5k range, but at $1600 for the parts it’s a viable option. I’ll search the forums for more info, but any idea what it would cost to install? I know a great indie who could do it.

Thanks. I did see that in the classifieds and read through your install . I was trying to see if I could find a few more videos of this other than the Sharkwerks site. I daily the car and the wife was not shy about pointing out my droney aftermarket exhaust on a previous car - (like just about every single time she got in it...) Will keep researching it though. From your description it sounds like a great PSE alternative.

Where you get into issues with drone and boom on 911's is doing crossover pipes and muffler deletes. Any of the proper, 3-muffler cat-back exhausts won't do do that - regardless of the brand. I experimented with the crossovers (AWE Switchpath) and it was miserable, came off the car a day after the install. The three mufflers control all that so whether you go Akro, PSE, Tubi, or another maker you won't experience that. The Tubi will be about 10% louder than your stock exhaust below 3,000 rpm, which is not much. My wife never complained about it and she has a Macan S which is about the same as the Tubi at low rpms. Things start changing at 3,500 rpm, the valves open up and at 4,000 rpm you're in full song - rewarded with what I would describe as a Grand Prix tone that is more harmonious with the car than flat out loud. To be sure, you get onto a long climbing hill and open the car up, everyone around you will know they are next to a Porsche in full song, which the Porsche PSE cannot do.

I bought a new 992 S Cab with PSE. Meh....its just OK, It doesn't have near the tone of the Tubi, but its also a twin turbo car and they can never match the one of a naturally aspirated 991.1. I'd have swapped my exhaust over to the new car, but it won't fit on it.

What a beautiful color combo, congrats!!!

On the subject of exhaust and drone, unless you are one of those lucky few who can live with "drone" and consider it part of the sport driving experience , I hate to tell you that even the Factory PSE drones. Not talking aftermarket exhaust levels of annoyance, not saying it makes interior pieces buzz in agony, but it sure does drone if you have PSE on at cruising speeds. I would be very careful with ANY aftermarket exhausts especially if people claim "it doesn't drone just like PSE".
my 2 cents
