I changed oil and filter. Oil temp to 180 and can't measure oil levels. It says oil measurements temporaryily unavailable . 2017 Carrera

Give it a few minutes (or hours), and check again.

Or, if you're impatient, park your car on a level surface. Make sure engine is off. Open and close engine lid. Then start the engine. Let it idle for about 2 minutes. Turn it off. Wait for about 5-7 minutes. Then start her up again and the e-dip stick should be working.

It's just the system recalibrating itself.

This is not how you check the oil on a 991. Engine is off. Ignition is on. FYI.

Sounds like the German engineers over thought this one.

You either need to let it idle for ~30-40 minutes or drive it for a bit. Everything needs to be up to temp and cycle. The time will somewhat vary depending on trim/options which is why everyone has different feedback.

If you have a Porsche capable ECU scan tool, you can force it, but expect that level to somewhat vary from reality once HOT.

There are a couple of other threads on this also if you want to see more feedback.
