Default Does anyone not like sport and sport plus modes?

I came from a 991.1 3.4 then a 991.2 cs pdk and now 991.2 cs manual. Especially in the manual car, I feel that in normal mode, PSM sport model, auto start-stop off is the best option. With a manual setup the sport and sport+ is less pronounced but how the clutch/throttle feels is a major drawback. Seems like the computer is keeping the throttle/psi up but when I go to shift and press the clutch there is a delay for the RPMs to drop.

Anyone feel the same?

I prefer throttle response in sport and sport +, I drive a manual 991.2 911T.

I don’t really care all that much for the pops in sport. The overall throttle intake sound in sport plus is more pleasing specifically on deceleration.

Sport mode all day everyday. I have a C2, and have never heard a burble or a pop, oddly enough.

Love sport if I am letting PDK drive. Sport+ when I am choosing my gears.

Yeah.. I wish I could have the nice, granular sport+ throttle without leaving the turbo spooled all the time. And the sport PDK shifts. And the non-sport PSE open valves.

If only you could mix and match these aspects in individual mode, like you can on a mk7.5 golf R...

That was an annoyance in my wife's 982 Boxster GTS as well. When you chop the throttle you want it chopped. Her BGTS seemed to continue to surge for a second which was super annoying. I got rid her Boxster for that reason and others and gave her my .2 Targa 4S at the time. That overweight beast has since been replaced as well.

I'd drive sport+ all the time if it meant it wouldn't keep the charge pipes pressurized at neutral throttle or deceleration. Either the gauge is lying, or there's constant load on the turbos -- the latter scares me.

I'd like to have the PDK shifting of Normal, the cooling of Sport and the throttle response and no-fake-exhaust-pops of Sport+

I get that, but have there been a significant number of turbo failures that would warrant concern?

You are right, there is a constant pressurization in S+, I just never thought of the potential premature wear.

Amazing there isn't an aftermarket solution to dial in a true "Individual" mode yet. (Apart from a full tune anyways)

It'd be a weird middle ground that requires the effort of a full tune, I reckon, so the question really just becomes "well.. why stop here?"

Wear aside, it gives me anxiety over increased risk of LSPI.

Given that the PDK automatically puts you into the lowest (or second lowest) gear it can when you're in S+ leads me to believe that it's not intended for use driving to grocery store.

Rolling around in Sport+ does make the best sounds, however aside from the turbo spooling pros/cons, I would be more concerned about the tendency of the rear end to step out a bit more than expected for around the town/back roads driving.

I am no expert, but true boost under load, (75-100% throttle) @ 1500 RPM isnt the same as keeping turbos spooled in neutral. And if so, its at most 1-2 PSI not the full beans. I really wouldnt worry about this at all.
