Default Headlight Part # Question

Hey everyone! Just purchased my first 911 last month after several Teslas - wanted that growl again after years of quiet.

I've got a 2014 C4S with Aerokit and this option:
XEX Bi-Xenon headlights in Black incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)

The car is from FL and the headlights show it - I want to replace them with new ones to remove all the splintering/spidering on the lens and have a cleaner look.

I pulled the left one out and it shows part # 991.631.997.01

A google search for this shows very little. I do see some 991.631.997.02's out there - but the SW#: is 27.20 instead of 27.10 on mine.

A search on Rennlist for 991.631.997.01 and 991.631.997 shows no threads.

Where would you recommend that I go to get a 991.631.997.01 replacement (and matching for the right - which I have not pulled out to see product # yet)?

If you're set on replacing them, try wet sanding them and polishing them before you throw money at aesthetics. What you describe is usually pretty easily fixed by stepping from 800 to 2000 grit (followed by a polishing compound of course)

Have you checked out the price for new replacements? That may redirect to fixing instead of replacement.

I'm aware of the cost - and aware that sanding is an option - my post for help is to make sure I get the right part and don't end up with something I can't return. It feels odd that when I google a part # only 6 searches on the entire internet show up!

Just a SWAG, worth every penny I am charging, but have you considered that the -02 is simply an improved /updated version of your existing -01 unit. Over my many years of messing with older cars and newer replacement stock, the original PN has often been superseded with an updated # (01 to 02, etc.) vs a new PN. Might be the case here. Have you checked with your Porsche dealer parts dept? Good luck, and let us know how it works out.

Try to find the PET (Porsche parts catalog) and double check the part numbers (check here: https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/pet/porsche)

You can also call Suncoast Porsche or check their website here: https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/991DHLLIT.html

These are the dynamic versions which turn as you steer. VERY pricey though so repair may be the most cost effective.

My 2014 C2 came with the standard bi xenon w/PDLS headlights. I wanted to replace them with the blacked out version (991.631.997.01(L), 991.631.998.01(R)). Didnt want to pay for the package that Suncoast had for around 3k so I monitored ebay and over 3 months bought them individually for 1k total. I would search there. They're cheaper because they are used and you have to swap the ballast and bulb from your old headlights but I think its worth it.

Another vote for eBay here. I have a 2014 C2S that had severely cracked headlights. I stalked eBay for black replacements. Got them for $500 each. Note that searching for the part number is good but a lot of sellers are terrible at putting the part number in a searchable field so also search for something like (Porsche 911 xenon) and look at the actual pictures to find the part number. That’s how I ultimately found mine.
