Default BMC or Stock Aifilter for 911.1 C4S X51

The Airfilters of my 911.1 C4S X51 are due to be changed (40k Miles). I was considering BMC filters, what's your opinions about this ? I read a lot of mixed opinions about them !

The GT3RS filters are BMC filters, and yes they fit.

991.1/GT3/GT3RS are the same size/style filter. (not GT3 Touring)

BMC is the stock filter on the GT3 RS, so they are safe to use. I say do it, it will sounds a little better at WOT, and you may get 1-2hp from it.

been discussed many times. Basically, any washable filter. They pay for themselves after 1 or 2 changes. I got a set of K&N ones on sale at Suncoast for less than the paper OEM filters.

Super Ironic, I have the exact same car (911.1 C4S X51) and am doing the same thing. I recently went trolling through the forums / research, etc etc.. various threads on this subject. Ultimately, I decided to go with the BMC filters, only for the generally regarded sound improvement. I found a good price over at MADNESS autoworks, where they are barely more expensive then the paper ones. I figure best case scenario I go through the clean/re-oil/re-use process, and save money in the long term, or I throw them away and go with something different after they reach their normal EoL.

Or buy filters from FCP Euro. Then when it comes time to replace them again, send your old ones back and they send you new ones for free.

Same set up, bit a C2S. Tried BMC @20K, went back to stock @ 45K while doing the heat shield recall. No difference

In my opinion, if the BMC was used on the GT3 RS, its safe to use and there are some benefits over stock. Am going to give it a try since my oem is due for replacement . Otherwise I wouldn't bother to replace.

Thanks for your input, much appreciated

Running K&N as a recent replacement of the paper ones (2015 .1 GTS).

Is it true that, under normal operating conditions, those require servicing every 50k miles?
At the rate I drive, about 3k miles per year, I have a while to go or do I clean re-oil more frequently?

Wish I could say i hear or notice a difference....but nothing.

Price was similar to paper ones so l would just use them till I need to change again....
