I have the rarest 991 option on my car
That's right, I have a rear wiper! LOL! A few recent events recently made me laugh about this.
1) During a recent service appointment, the SA did a walk around checking for damage when he remarked "Wow, rear wiper, weird.". I looked at him with a surprised look to which he shrugged and laughed "never see it."
2) I tried to buy a replacement rear wiper blade off Amazon.com only to find that it's actually super hard to do so. All the wipers which fit the 991 are for the front. The ones that claim to fit the rear did not (I know this because I ordered it and hand to send it back).
3) I started to scroll through the photos of 991s on rennlist and sure enough, maybe saw two cars with rear wipers.
If memory serves, it was only an extra $300 to add it. I understand that I live in the Pacific Northwest and perhaps have a unique situation, but I'm still surprised that hardly anyone has it. Surely some of you drive in the rain?

I'd definitely have gotten it if I bought new. But yeah, not common! I've never seen one in real life. You can try the old denatured alcohol trick on your existing wiper blade to see if you can freshen it up while you're searching for a replacement.

According to this article “it is a perfect visual metaphor of classic Porsche essence and character”.

So mine is doing its part in holding up the tradition 😂
Yes, rear wiper!

I'm waiting for someone to say, "Rear wiper? Too much extra weight"!
A must in snow areas, not so much in the rain.

I desperately wanted one but bought used and it was one option my car didn’t have. The 997 I nearly bought before I purchased my 991 had one and it was glorious. A definite nod to the past...

No interest in rear wiper on my 911 here. I'm retired and mine is for sunny day blasts and car events on nice days. No commutes here.

I love mine. Dealer said that you always know that car that was ordered by the customer when you see the wiper. It’s so cheap and provides good function. Now if the car is never driven in foul weather, it’s not a necessity but the 4GTS will go anywhere, anytime. Dedicated snow tires and she goes!

Sorry, it ruins the lines of the car to me - functional use be damned!

I gave up, bought a Porsche rear wiper blade. It uses a mounting called "pinch tab" which isn't common... unless you own a GM SUV apparently.

DD my 991.2. A good treatment on the rear window leaves it more than clean enough to see through.
