For sure. I find the toughest winter condition for the Porsche that I most frequently encounter is heavy wet snow, near freezing point, the grooves and sipes get packed with snow and you might as well be sporting racing slicks. I have a long steep driveway, and I have to nearly stop at the bottom (SPASM), that is a real test for the winter tires. The rear engine placement goes a long way for traction, but only so far

Occasionally Vivid Racing has some deals on HRE flowforms which can come out to be cheaper then Tire racks offerings. Also the flow forms in the Porsche fitment are 11" out back so that opens up the 295 option. You can still go 305 if you want but with winter tires narrower is better. I scored a set of HRE's for 1600 bucks last year. I plan to put them back on in the next week or two.

Do all/most dealers do wheel storage? And do they have to be OEM wheels? Debating getting the 19" OEM Carrera wheels vs Sport Cup 4's from TR.... 2200 vs 3800; but I'd be willing to spend the extra $ if it means I don't have to deal with storage or transporting them

Hello,
New to this forum, and just recently purchased a 2017 991.2 C4GTS (non CL)
Already starting to look at winter set up for next winter.
I've historically always ran Nokian Tires for winter and I truly feel they are some of the best tires for my area.
I'm not planning on daily driving the 911 in the winter, but do want to take it on some winter road trips to lake louise or banff, so want true winter tires rather than Performance Winter tires.
However once thing I noticed is that the widest tires offered in the Nokian Hakkappelitta R3 or the new Snowproof P is 275 width....so my question is...can you run a 275 width tire on the rear? My plan would be to buy a set of winter rims, possibly HRE Flowforms in 19", so would I be able to say run 235/245 front and 275 rear? Provided I get the right wheel width to do so? Or would the 275 be just too narrow for this car?
Sorry for the newb question.
Thanks

so long as the circumference of the tire matches OE, the car won't complain.
significantly changing the ratio of front to rear width will change the handling characteristics of the car. nothing you can't overcome with a bit of care and practice, but still something worth noting. even then, 295 to 275, assuming you're still in the right circumference ballpark, isn't a huge difference. you'll be fine.
