Default 60k Mile Service

Time to take my C4 in for the 60K mile service (drive belt replacement). Is there anything else I should have done (besides the Porsche recommended stuff) during the service?

Thanks!

Your AWD controller oil (front differential) needs to be changed at 60k.

Time and miles are both listed because they both should be followed.

Whichever happens first is when you do the maintenance.

If you have PDCC it's $50-80 for the belt since it's double-sided.

My Porsche service advisor had commented it was a visual inspection piece and not to even worry about the interval, and replace when it looked in need of such. That went directly against the manual, and not what I had expected to hear.

Some may disagree with me here, but I change my PDK clutch oil at 60k/6 years. That was the correct factory recommendation for my 997.2S. When I bought my 991.1S, I noticed that the factory recommendation had doubled to 120k miles/12 years which is the same as the gear oil. But, I choose to follow the 997.2 schedule anyway.

It's only $20. Changing it is no more difficult than non PDCC car, just one more pulley, however it is right on top.

I recently did a service on my 2012 S and included the serpentine belt since it was easy to access while I was changing air filters. As mentioned by others, the belt is not expensive so it was more a function of "already being in there". My '12 has ~22k mi so, although it's not quite due per the maintenance schedule in the manual, I figured it was inexpensive piece of mind. Once I pulled the belt out and gave it a thorough inspection, I put in my cabinet as an "emergency" replacement should I ever need it....which is highly unlikely, but I did that anyway.

Damn. That belt couldn't be found for under $80 or $85 in April, and most places end up shipping the single-sided version of it on accident. The OEM belt from the dealer was cheaper (and actually available) by a few bucks with a wholesale account.
