Default 991.1 NB Michelin PS4S lessons

So - I've had Michelin PS4S for a couple of years now and the ride, grip, performance, etc is incredible. I got mine before there was a Porsche specific version... worth it because the Pirelli's were shot because of dry rot, loud and just all around bad. For those with a 991.1 C2(S) like me there are some considerations that I thought would be helpful. First, there is still no Porsche specific 295/30/20. All 4 were Ferrari specific so there's no issue with speed, traction or performance. The issue is just aesthetics. The sidewall on the 295 has a curb protecting bow that makes the tire look a little stretched. My fronts are like this too but not as pronounced. Today I installed 305's and it looks MUCH better and is much more "boxed". I can also reduce my spacer which makes me happy as well. No issue fitting the tire on the sport design wheel. Doubt I'll feel any difference at all on the road. Just thought I'd share as well as caution those that may be tempted to save a couple bucks on a non Porsche specific version of the same tire.

^^ is your 305 N spec? I’ve had PS4S on another car and loved them. They are my first choice when my Pirellis fade.

yes - not that I was lacking grip before bit the contact patch is about 35mm wider because of the geometry too! Not just the 10mm size increase.

Agree 100% I put mine on last week, swapped from Pirelli, that plus an alignment, I fell in love with the car all lover again. 991.2, base (that always makes me laugh, a $110K "base" car) manual.

Here’s mine on Brixtons. Had to go from 305s to 295s on the rear as I went from 11.5 Technos to 11”. Still think 305s would have fit but Brixton said they wouldn’t. Can tell the difference anyway....other than I’m not in the “305 club” anymore.

Yeah. That's just weird. I have the same size wheel and exact same tire. I actually took a long hard look at it after I saw your post. It is not stretched like your first pic. Maybe Michelin has different versions of the PS4. I got my tires from discount tires.

I'm pretty sure they are 11".... the first few sets for sale I could find via google are consistent @11". Part of it is the angle in that I was trying to really show the level of "stretch." The sidewall of the 305's on the Porsche specific version is absolutely more boxed/flat.
