Default Rear seat/parcel cover

Last night I was watching some YouTube on installing the DSC Sport controller v3.

I pried the cover off pretty easily enough to see where the current module.

Can take the whole panel off and leave it. What about the styrofoam underneath?

Hoping I’ll get more noise in the cabin if I took it off. 😀 not to mention the weight savings. 😎

It's there for looks and noise reduction, so you could take it off if you want more engine noise.

Are you talking about the most rear cover that is just below the end of the rear window?

I had entire rear carpet off for service once, it was amazing to hear all the engine noise !
i have kids... so I put it back on so not to damage their hearing.

‘’I was impressed with the race car sounds!

So.. With a 991.1 w/ black interior/carmine red stitching a matching carmine red cover makes sense, light carpet or such.
-what is the size of the rear 'deck' for a 991.1? It looks to be 38'' long x 36'' wide, true? *adjust for the drop 4-5''
Is there a P-car cover/carpet for the area? It has a 4-5 inch drop then on to the two seat 'blocks. Since my 991.1 has the seats
down always it makes sense to cover to avoid any sun damage, agree? May not tint the rear (large) glass, just the side glass.
Without tint he 991.1 has a real open-air enjoyable feel beyond the performance/sound!

Suncoast porsche and or lloyds maps sells carpeting for the rear deck.
I have also seen carpeting for covering the rear seat backs when they are down, but I dont remember who had that.

i meant the cover that starts behind the rear seat when you fold it down and extends all the way to the back of the rear window.

I don’t know how to release the two latches or hooks that are attached from under the cover.

also what the deal with the layer of styrofoam? Can that be taken out. That’s got to dampen the engine sound.

Any ideas or tips on releasing the two rear latches so I can remove the cover? Thanks in advance?
