Not many here have gone from a .1 to a .2, for several reasons, but some have so do what YOU want. Personally I would not and I drove them back to back.

‘14 .1 to a ‘19T. No regrets. The .2 is much more enjoyable where I live due to traffic. If I could regularly open the car up I would probably choose a ‘15/‘16 GTS or a GT3. Cannot go wrong with any 911...

Having owned 45 Porsche's for almost 50 years, I can tell you each new generation took me longer to adjust to. It was not one drive or even one day. I was not a fan of the 991, but after a year or two (and dozens of times behind the wheel), I began to accept the car. I owned a 991.1 C4S and now a 991.2 Targa 4S. The Targa is a better all around machine for my use, but I still have my one of a kind (over 500K invested in) 997S gearshift which I will never part with. We all have opinions and they are based on emotion and experience , in my case I am not capable of emotion so I see cars as merely machines that serve a purpose, some are better than others, all can be made better. My opinion is based on my experience and unless any of you have owned almost 500 cars and built dozens of one off cars, than your opinion would not be the same. It does not make my opinion more valid just different. In the end OP, your opinion is the one that matters. Good luck.

Bought a 991.2 C4S about 6 weeks ago. Installed an Akrapovic exhaust and their sport cats about two weeks later. Definitely improves the sound of the car.

I think it just depends on where people are in their car journey. I think many people here have made the move. Some people still debate the air-cooled as the last 911 just like many of us hold on to our love of NA.

Fully agree with this statement. Im coming from multiple, high horsepower, big heavy turbo sedans, RS7 and M6 GC most recently. I was tired of all that nonsense. It got extremely boring after awhile, FOR ME. I missed the raw NA feeling I had in my E90 M3. Thats why I chose the .1 C2S. Everyone's car journey is different and I don't necessarily believe its one is better than the other as it depends on what the driver wants. My other car, is an 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon manual. I adore driving it for its pure rawness, no fluff. I had a custom ordered JL Rubicon that was $58k and much prefer this older, slower, louder $15k Jeep. But thats just me and where Im at in the process.

Use case + personal preferences/what lights your fire are key.
I happen to like a lot of contrast between my cars (I have two, but that rule would still apply if I had more space and more cars), and find the 991.2 Carrera to be a perfect pairing with an old, elemental 914—and don't have time for anything but a new car as a daily in this season. If I was to have just one, I might be happier in my old 981 GT4 or, more likely, a 987 or 997 of some sort.

Had a 2016 S now a 2017 C4S. No regrets. No regrets with any 911 replacements since my first a 1984 I bought in 1985, except a 2008 Cayman that was too small for me. I thought I could substitute for a 911 and spend less $. Only other regret was the 2015 Vette I bought (replaced with the 2016 S). The Vette seats were brutally uncomfortable for me. I had a case of overblown car patriotism (US car) but I soon came to my senses and went back to 911s...

I've never owned a .2 but I've gone back and forth between N/A cars and forced induction cars.
Audi S5 (supercharged) to Cadillac ATS-V (twin turbo) to 981 Cayman S (N/A) to E63 AMGS (twin turbo) to Audi S4 (twin scroll single turbo) to my current 991.1 base.. In that order lol..
Supercharged, single turbo, twin turbo and N/A cars have their own individual personalities. There's no wrong answer here but I'd say try the .2 and if you regret it sell it and go back to a .1..
Love hearing about others car journeys! Always interesting to see how people bounce around in comparison to yourself.
