See the attached Porsche PDF that I came across last week.

Well there is your answer: The new Porsche After Sales brake fluid has a different viscosity (within DOT4 specification) which improves the PSM performance in cold temperatures.

And used in: The new Porsche AfterSales brake fluid must be used for sports cars from 9x7 onwards, and for Cayenne, Panamera, Macan. (and LV was probably brought about because those last three models can most likely end up sub-zero temperatures).

In any case, since I am nowhere near driving my 991 in freezing temperatures and most performance tires have a warning about that and I do not drive my car in the winter, I am not too worried about using LV or non-LV.
