Default how do 991.2 front slats work?

How do the front bumper slats work in the 991.2? Mine never seem to be closed regardless of what mode I'm in or weather temp. When should I see them closed and how can I tell if they are working?

Yeah, they close at highway speed when extra cooling is not needed.

Must be a 991.2 feature then. Always learn something new!

I do not think the slats in my .2 GTS move...maybe because it has a sport design bumper?

Its too sporty to think of gas mileage

could be but that also occurs in the GTS with fixed slats. Oil temps are always cooler in sport mode.

There’s also the electronic thermostat, from what has been posted previously, that has an effect.

Would be cool to have a picture of them actively closed. Or a video of them closing/opening....

You can close them by hand if you want.
