Had the E-Tron 6 months now, I just am over-the-top with it, and totally spoiled by it. It's an amazing piece of engineering with none of the quality control or cheapish fit and finish bugs of Tesla, as you would expect from Audi. Financially, I think it may be the best bargain out there, and I don't think Audi is making money on these cars. List price fully loaded is half that of a loaded Taycan @ $ 84K. Its pretty common to get $ 15K off sticker right now so you pay around $ 59K for one. Still has the $ 7,500 Federal Tax Credit on it (all gone on Tesla) and $ 1,000 Federal Tax Credit for installing a home charger, so that's $ 8,500 in real money that comes off the bottom of your 1040.. Net-net, around $ 50K you hava state-of-the-art electric car that is super quiet, smooth, has lots of bells and whistles, is vibration-free and seamless acceleration that gets the empg of around 75mpg. It's an excellent ride. If you are in the market for an EV, check it out.

I've done this many times and it's not an issue provided you've got decent credit. The dealer will set up alternate financing through their in-house lender that they will use as a back-up in case your financing falls through. Once they get your check they cancel the back-up financing. It requires that they run your credit so it will result in an inquiry on your credit report but no big deal.

If you aren't willing to do this then they probably won't let you take the car. Surprised this is even controversial as this is SOP. People drive off dealer lots all the time with their own financing provided within a few days.

Yeah I've had this before when I got my 991, I put my down payment then a week later when the check from my personal bank arrived, I just drove over and dropped it off to the dealership. All the while I was already in possession of the car and was driving it around.

Also, if your car is relatively newish make sure when you add it to your insurance that you can also add it for GAP Coverage. I know new vehicles they do that automatically I believe, but for cars like a year or 2 old depending on mileage??? they can still offer GAP insurance. someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Seeing there’s not a consensus here, as suggested earlier a simple call to the dealer is all it’ll take to get your answer. Let us know how it goes.

Update: Dealer had zero issue with it. Picked up my car and mailed them the check just now (which arrived today).

We have also done this. Not a big deal for a dealer finance department to quickly set up an agreement, which becomes moot once payment is made.
