Congrats on becoming an official Porsche owner. After owning several Corvettes and Porsche’s, I can tell you that you purchased the better car!
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

I went from a C7 Z06 to a 991.1 GTS. Couldn't be happier! I loved the vette, but I enjoy driving this car more overall. I find it a completely different and more satisfying experience. I hope you will feel the same!

Congrats! I myself went from a C7 with Z51 package to a 911 C4S and never regretted it. Although the Corvette was a very nice car, the 911 is so much more: more comfortable, better fit and finish, and better materials. Enjoy in good health.

So sorry to be the bearer of bad news. A few things to consider: (i) the 991 is a crazy reliable car, and aside from some fluke, you likely wont need the CPO, (ii) the dealer should have known better and you should be able to explain the situation and return the car, or get a discount, (iii) it looks like you haven't accepted delivery and I'd be willing to bet the transaction isn't finalized until that happens. If the dealer gives you a hard time on points (ii) and (iii), get a lawyer involved - I'm sure there are consequences for the dealer's license if he misrepresented the warranty status to the public to make a sale, particularly if that was a material point of the negotiation (that would be fraud). I'd also avoid any temptation to register the transfer of the car as a private party deal with Porsche, which could have worse consequences than the CPO not paying out. Send me a PM if you want to brainstorm a bit, but so long as you got the car inspected and are happy with the result, I'd say nothing to worry about and enjoy the 911.
The dealer (independent) didn't list is as a CPO. There was a photo of the CPO documents in the car's listing (more than 120 photos). I confirmed that there was a CPO by calling my local Porsche dealer and providing the VIN. I also confirmed with the previous owner. I don't feel that the indy dealer was deceitful or disingenuous in any way.

Went from a C6 ZR1 to a 991.1 Turbo. Loved the ZR1 but is was GM quality. The P car is so much better all around.
The OP should post this decision in the C8 section of Corvette Forum. They are crazy over there if you don’t pledge allegiance to the C8.

If you are really buying from the previous owner through a dealer who has it ‘on consignment’, would that count as a private party sale?
I think the CPO warranty is well worth having, so you should do whatever you can to make sure it’s transferred to your name.

Based on my brief exposure to this forum, I have noticed a distinct difference in the way members treat each other. Lots of passionate Corvette enthusiasts that have been the backbone of that brand for generations. However the downside is too many keyboard warriors there that aren't afraid to tell you are smart they. I won't miss that.

But, yeah, I think you are right. They seem to be a little more tightly wound...

[QUOTE=Hurricane;16652299]No, lots of really good people there. They just have a small portion that need some lessons in manners and being civil to each other.

I have seen your posts over there and you are always respectful. What I dislike are the newbies who have joined CF since the announcement of the C8 and preach like they know it all and accept no other car or any criticism of the C8. This BS started before the car was even revealed and the hyperbole about it being a world changer for sports cars is ridiculous. I have owned three Corvettes C4-C6. Loved them. But none compare to the overall refinement of Porsche. The folks on Rennlist are mostly car people who interested in learning about cars of all kind.
