Sweet!!! When you get her, hop in, drive her gently till oil temp is 180+ degrees, head for some curvy roads, keep her revs 4000+ taking those curvy roads at 1+ g’s and you’ll have a grin on your face that will last for a week, Congrats.

So I called my local Porsche dealer and provided VIN to confirm CPO. I was told that I could transfer for a small fee. I just read on the Porsche website that the warranty will not transfer if purchased from an independent dealer. Looks like I have some work to do to resolve. I'm feeling less optimistic after reading this.

Way more car than the vette.
Perhaps in professional hands the vette may be faster around a track and in a drag race but you ended up with way more car. Drive them both and i would he interested to see down the road if you agree.

I've driven the new Vette.and as always a lot of car for the money. I'm a 3 pedal guy so whether it's a 911, Vette or anything else i don't like the "clutchless" models. It will be interesting to see what the Vette performance models offer. My guess is the manual tranny will at some point resurface.

Duck for the win! Gorgeous car and great call on the 991.1! That NA engine is a keeper for sure! That is the perfect car for driving around western Mass, VT and NH during the fall foliage spectacular. Enjoy!

No doubt the C8 is a step up from previous GM stuff. When the C5 came out I found myself in a similar place as the OP. The media ( and especially GM) said over and over to all that would listen that the new C5 was a game changer. Equal to or greater than the P cars. A couple of years go by, and the C5 FRC ( fixed roof coupe ) arrived and I bought one. I remember all to well. That was 1999 and the Porsche dealer had a C2s left over from ‘96 that had been a dealer demo. I went with the C5. Epic mistake I’ll never forgive myself for.
OP, you made a good decision I’d wager.

Congrats!
As others have mentioned, CPO warranties are not transferable unless done via private-party sale, but I have heard of non-Porsche-dealer transactions "slipping through PCNA's cracks".
Take a run on the Kancamagus Highway in NH, and then join the PCA for some track/auto-x time (if COVID ever passes) so you can learn how to handle the 911. It is funny how 400HP has become "normal", or even underpowered for a sports car, but you can quickly get into trouble if you are not used to it
