Well, I'd think the tape may fail after a time. Could try some JB weld underneath to reinforce it? I agree with not replacing it just for that, but it may cause problems down the road that will require a replacement. I don't know.. But that is just so dishonest on their part!
I am 76 years and purchased all my 6 Porsches new.. Though I have equipment, I am no longer physically able to perform an oil change. I cannot even detail my 2015 991 GTS .properly, nor change the oil. Other than taking it back to independents (which we do not have) or the dealer, how do I accomplish an oil change?.

I think you could certainly find a smaller or mom/pop garage that will do it for you in lieu of a Porsche specific independent. It is a pretty basic job - single drain plug then pop out the fans to get to the filter.
Not really a maintenance quirk, but a reminder for 991.1 owners with pdk transmission. If you are changing a base steering wheel to the sport design with paddle shifters, remember to take it to your dealer (or remind your dealer) to program the computer so that when you push both paddle shifters, the transmission goes to neutral. A novice technician at the dealer may not even know about it

We should be doing this kind of thing more as a community - as well as events and/or group drives. I don't feel like PCA does enough.

I'll go first -
During oil change with 991 on a lift, 7.3-7.5 quarts empty however if you use ramps on rear only, 8.5 will drain.
That's because the oil in the oil cooler and lines will drain if you raise the front.
Mine is the PITA oil reader inside the car. You have to wait until operating temps, then you add the additional oil and have to wait until it reads the additional oil. I miss dip sticks.
Agreed - the electronic oil thing is a bit flaky at times.
Also seems to reset itself if I merely open the oil cap (?)

As I understand, the concept is, you may or may not have added oil if you elevate the "hood" (not sure about the cap). Point being the system makes that assumption and re-initiates the algorithm (whatever it is) to measure the oil.
