typical cycle:
sellers holding on to last months prices
buyer pool slowing down
prices will equalize soon enough.

I'm interested in a well spec'd PDK 991.1 C2S in mid 50s, I've put a few offers out there, and its getting close now... best was 59k for a 130k msrp 2013 with 28k miles.

But I'm holding out, don't need the car, just want to replace cayenne as a daily.

I fully agree with everything you said. Most notably the experience being worth it. I've been the guy that agonizes over a few grand in the past and holds off buying a car for several months because I need the best deal possible. This was not one of those cases. Figured out exactly what I wanted, found it on the other side of the country, flew there next day bought it, drove it back and am way happier with this purchase than the other cars I've bought in the past that were undoubtedly better deals. I bought the car right as the markets were crashing so I figured if I waited a couple months I could get a better deal but I just didnt want to wait and from what I'm reading here it sounds prices havent dropped as much as I thought they would have so glad I pulled the trigger.

Yeah, certainly true if it is a "must have" car for you (special color, spec, whatever). Color is a big deal for me, and although I won't overpay for a certain color (save, Mexico Blue or something similar), I certainly don't expect a deal on a color I really like. The car would have to be super cheap to get a black one though.

If you are OK with most any color and are looking for the typical PDK-14 way build, there is no reason to pay extra. There are about 10 on Carmax alone and they have been sitting there forever now.

I have a 2012.5 Launch Edition, Black over grey interior, no SC, PDK, 40,500 miles, impeccable maintenance since I've owned it for 2 years - oil changes every 6 months regardless of miles, PDK service done - calibration and clutch fluid change, brake fluid flush, new pads. Paint is excellent, swirl free, detailed and pampered, garaged in Bay Area, CA. I am willing to let it go for ~55

Airline guy here who sold a beautiful Stone Grey 89 Carrera during the bankruptcies post 9/11. While my 991.1 C2S makes up for a lot, I still get sick to my stomach thinking about that 89. Tough times in the flying business right now but I would try to hold on if you love your car.

I sold my ‘89 928GT during that period. It was 1 of 50 in the U.S.. Wish I still had it!

I thought SC was standard on a Launch Edition? W/O SC, PDK can't be optimized, and it can't be retrofitted as on the 997.

Who's interested a tastefully modified 991.1? I'll let it go for 79k, 450 screaming ponies (stage 2), two sets of wheels, 991.2 rear end and a bumper to bumper extended warranty for 5 years.

Luckily for me, my wife is the OCD one. She does most of the car washing, even when it isn't needed IMO. I do like driving them however!
