thanks man! hmmm....i am sure i have seen cheaper ones though in the past years...but during "normal times" they are sold while u are still asking questions or getting the PPI setup. I totally agree it's a buyer's market right now my car actually sat for like 2 months

I've been thinking about selling my 991.1 C2S 7MT, it has about 36k miles and I love that car. I've just been wanting an airplane for as long as I can remember.

An Agata Gray S in the 60's would be a good to go.
I came from a 2011 997.2 4S and there is a world of difference between the models. I would not go back to 997.2 in any configuration including Turbo etc. 991.1 is so much of a better car. Haver you driven both? If not, please do so and I would think you would be convinced immediately. Also, I don't think there would be really any (noticeable) difference performance wise.

The key to getting a really good deal on a Porsche is to buy a new one that has been sitting on the lot a long time, not a used one from a dealer. The reason being that Porsche AG puts money to "old" new stock that you don't know about, whereas on used cars, that's only the dealer's money and they get no incentives from Porsche to move them. My last two Porsche buys were vehicles that had been sitting on the dealer lots for 9 months or longer and 20% to 30% off MSRP is do-able. This dealer in CA is sitting on (13) leftover 991's (2019) and I'm sure you can get those kind of discounts as the have factory money behind them.

If that's still too rich, buying Private Party on an older 991 is going to be a better deal than a car dealer of any kind in most cases.

I did come across this 2015 Targa at a McLaren dealer in VA today, pretty rare to see one of these on the lot and he's not likely getting Porsche traffic at their store, this is a car that would head to auction normally so perhaps a deal to be had if you like a red Targa?

I agree. My discount was close to 20% on new because it had been on the lot for 9 months, and in Canada discounts on Porsches are much more difficult to come by. But also have to think anything on a dealer lot right now is possibly up for amazing deals due to COVID. Expensive inventory and at some point cash flow becomes an issue.

Anecdotal info for the thread: I got my very nicely optioned ($120k MSRP) Aqua Blue over black 2012 991.1 C2S with CPO coverage until next March for $61k just over a month ago. From what I can see that's still a fantastic price. So yeah, I'd say things are holding pretty steady.

Default Prices haven't budged

Hey everyone,

I agree with the other comments on pricing. I thought that Covid19/economic slow down would lower the prices of the 991s.

I am looking to buy my first Porsche, a CPO 991 C4S Cab. I have been looking for nearly 2 years.

Should I wait another month before buying ? The anticipation is killing me though ...

I believe the age old recommendation still applies today. If you find the one with the options you want and at the price you feel comfortable, buy it. There will be someone that will buy it if you don’t. That’s the nature of the 991.1 market

Default money

The people who own these cars have money and will still have money. They are not servers or at the lower end of the socioeconomic spectrum. Prices wont change in a month. Now we have 1.4 million cases and 80k deaths and counting and the graph is headed through the roof. 6 months from now may be a different picture and how amusing it will be to watch trickle up economics at work.

if u have been waiting for 2 years, i dont know what's keeping you from pulling the trigger. It's a buyer's market now and these cars are "wants" not "needs", do what makes u happy. Waiting for the right car for the right price sure, but 2 years has been long enough to miss out all the fun u could have had. Even if u didnt find the cheapest car ever, u are prob not far off, maybe just 5k diff at most
