Hey all. Recently moved from a Cayman to a black 991.2 CS. I tried some searches and couldn't really find what I was looking for. Was curious to know if there are some subtle (or maybe not so subtle) places that folks add a pop of color. Either with paint or wrap? Not really into the racing stripe down the middle. But have thought about maybe like wrapping the engine grill louvers/slats in red or something along those lines. Maybe mirrors. That sort of thing. Anyone done something similar with theirs and want to share pics? Just curious to see some ideas and what others have done. Thanks.
Well, I don't have a black car, but some changes I've made to my cars were "subtle" accent changes. On my '14 C4S I added black highlight bits to my GT Silver '14 C4S, including mirrors and rear badging in plastidip, and roof / hood in black vinyl wrap. On my '15 GTS, I did some temporary red-accents over White, and yes an offset stripe as well.... On a black car you may be limited as to what would work, but I've seen some really cool lizard-green accents on black cars before -- you could change the rear badging for example....
Here's a few pics of what I've done mentioned above....
I have a Black/Black C2. Not really into modding but I did buy a Red starter ‘key’ from a very nice Rennlister and that tiny bit of color inside really works for me!
Hi all,
Also Black on Black C2S, rear script is chrome, would love to change it to red, but have no idea how.
Any ideas?
Regards
Very simple DIY with PlastiDip. Mask off rest of car/rear, and spray 3-4 coats of Plastdip Red. You simply peel off the rubber paint material around the badge -- I did this with both black and red on my C4S. Pic below (ignore the fact that the car is filthy....)
I had some extra vinyl lying around, so I tried it on the key fob dummy. I decided to do the inside portion instead of the outer... mostly because the outside would be near impossible to do cleanly.
I'm still learning as far as vinyl application skills go, so neither one of my attempts are perfect, but here they are nonetheless.
