Default Exhaust

Just got a 991S non PSE. What exhaust systems do you recommend that gives best horsepower and sound?

The answers are as many as the ocean is deep.

Lets assume you have a 991.1 and not a 991.2.

Average or "value" priced:
Fabspeed is popular here - a lot of people complain about fit and customer care
Soul is the value proposition. Pretty good but not exotic. Great customer care and low price option.
AWE has a "sound guarantee."

High end systems:
Akropovic. 10K... titanium
Kline. Iconel so very light
iPE. This what I have and its the highest pitch and loudest but barely more than stock with the valves closed. Most variety in one. To my subjective ear it sounds the best.
Cargraphic and FVD are both German and TUV certified. The highest quality.

There are MANY more but that's a good place to start. Cat back's won't do anything material to power. Ignore the marketing.

You assign the 3 USA manufactured, mostly hand built, brands as average "value priced", and rated the Taiwan factory built exhaust as exotic?

I would place IPE on the same level as ArmyTrix and FI Exhaust.

I just ordered a SOUL. Best customer service i have received in awhile, and they guarantee fitment and lifetime warranty. Also Hand Made, looks great!

I'll make a thread with some install notes and videos when i get it and finish everything!

We all have opinions. I've personally handled each of these and stand by my opinion. Your opinion may be different. Many countries make junk and each makes quality - just depends....

I ended up with a Fabspeed Supersport X-Pipe with Black Tips after much debate (It was between that and Soul for me). After a few failed attempts to have it installed at a local Porsche specialized shop I now have everything needed to do it myself. Install starts tomorrow, I’ll report back! It is going on a 2013 991.1 C2S.

Search this forum and you shall answer your questions! And Google 991 exhaust and you can listen to all of them, which you can also do here. I usually post a link or two for such questions but there are so many threads on this topic you are on your own. And follow-up when you decide so we know what you wound up getiing.

I have a stock PSE. Suncoast has a sale on them now.

I selected that exhaust in my factory ordered car because I didn't want to wake everyone in my neighborhood when I left on Saturday morning....it switches on and it's worked perfectly for 7+ years

I also went with the stock PSE. I'm not a big fan of too-loud exhausts. PSE is just the right amount.

BTW - don't expect any HP gains. Your NA engine is pretty much at the max HP it can get without some more major changes.

All subjective but I’d agree with the PSE being just the right amount of loud, and at the right pitch. If sound is important to you, it should check that box.

I have PSE on my 991.1, totally love it.
