Unhappy system fault

Newbie here. My wife's 991.1 is kept on a ctek charger in the garage with the front hood not shut but on the secondary latch so it is up a bit. Recent new agm interstate battery.
The car will sit like this for maybe a week unlocked, alarm not armed. After unhooking charger and closing front hood, she starts it up and gets a 'system fault' message along with the rear spoiler coming up and staying up. The spoiler will not retract with the button (holding it down). At the same time, the buttons by driver's seat for both the front hood and rear deck lid release won't work. This all happens after engine start and before even putting the car in gear. Baffling, any thoughts? Thanks this is an awesome forum!

Someone posted in another post in the past week that the spoiler will not go down with a button push but only when driving.

do these problems occur when you don't charge the battery?

It should go away after a short drive. Never happened in either my 991.1 or 991.2, but did happen with my 996TT. Is your 991.1 a cab?

Did these problems crop up shortly after the battery was installed? Are the terminals clean and tightly fastened?

There have been a number of postings that have brought up the "need" for a "reset" after a new battery goes in. Of course, this requires a trip to the dealer for a factory scan tool hook-up.

Is the charger hooked up directly to the battery by pig tails or other means and is the charger's output sufficient? Check the connections.

Not sure but I'm going to stop using the CTEK charger for awhile and see if it still happens

Hi BSO, we had the same problems before the new battery was installed at the Porsche dealership, thinking the old battery may be the culprit.
The tech at the P-dealer installed the interstate agm battery and did the resets.
The CTEK charger is hooked up to the mains using the pigtail eyelets that attach to the terminal bolts.
Everything looks tight

My 996TT is a cab too. It gets fixed by going for a short drive. So maybe thats it? I think with mine, it has something to do with the top.

Hi polobai, sometimes it will resolve itself after a short drive and sometimes not.
Of course while at the dealer there wasn't any problem...
