I am looking to Porsche CPO 911. Does anyone have insight how much they take off of MSRP. Mildly optioned base . 14 way seats, pdk, premium package .

Any other suggestions to keep in mind buying 2017 CPO. I looked at one in Delaware . At 26k miles . For 78k.

Would buying now vs buying 6 months later matter .

Try in a month. Most everyone is hoarding cash or buying blue chip stocks at a discount at the moment and not buying cars...so if you want this car and you have cash to buy this you're in a good position imo...

I agree with TheBen, but I would start the negotiating process now by shooting them an e-mail and inquiring about the car. Then slowly every week or so recontact them and request a lower price.

Put the offer on the table now.

Let them come back to you if and when they are ready to accept.

I saw a delaware Porsche dealer has as similar one under 75K and they had a few to choose from. If you find "the one" I would low ball them and start the process today.

I was able to pick up a similar '17 C2 991.2 with a few less miles, but with sport chrono and sport exhaust for under $75k CPO. If you're able to resist the urge, play hard ball and offer him $70k to start. I think you should be able to get it for $72k or $73k.

I'm was still following that market closely till 3 weeks ago... For what it's worth:

Figure average 2017 MSRP C2 108,000.
Dealer CPO 2 owner close to $78K... PLUS TAX
Private Seller $72K

After reading all of the above, I'm sure I probably overpaid for my 2018 CPO 991.2 C2. But it had only 7000 miles and was exactly what I wanted. Let's just say that the car and I were both there at the right time, and what's done is done. No regrets. :-)

That’s the balance with these cars. I would have definitely paid a few K more for my favorite color.

Agree 100%. It wasn’t easy to find a black exterior with Luxor beige interior that also met all of my other criteria. I could have found a black exterior / black interior for a bit less, but that’s not what I wanted. If I’m buying a $10K used car, I can compromise a bit. But for the price of a 911, it needed to be EXACTLY what I was looking for.

Tough call.

Will prices of high end luxury cars like the 911 go down in a few months? Maybe. Or maybe we’ll get over this quickly, and the new plumber and welder millionaires will be looking for a place to spend their money.

I found it surprisingly hard last summer to source a car that suited me in replacing my ‘14 981S. Ordering a new 991 was not an option, so I searched for a CPO, one owner, low mileage, with a clean car fax. Add MT and SC, and my pool was further reduced. I only wanted Silver, Gray, Blue or maybe Red, and so I ended up finding only about six cars across the US.

In the end, I located a car in NY, flew from Tampa one-way to JFK, took a test drive, and bought it for the asking price.

I guess what I’m saying is a 911 is less like a purchase of a lawn mower, and is much more an emotional buy. It’s a car no one needs, but everyone wants, as the saying goes. If you find one you like, you should probably buy it now.

It has been a month since I purchased, thinking I over paid as well with the virus in play. I looked last night and low milage, clean car fax cars on Porsche national website pricing is similar to 90 days ago. The blue car above is less but if you look at the car fax it has an accident, worth low 70’s 2 months ago. There are less buyers today and that has to be good in the short term if you are shopping. I truly enjoyed the process searching, hours and hours at the LA, OC and SD Porsche dealerships looking and with the virus I would not be going out. Glad I bought last month. Good Luck.
