Default Just bought this grill - zunnsport alternative

I had bought the zunnsport grills but never put them on, because I didn't like their finish. Too glossy or something - not sure what about them bothered me - they didn't look enough like the Porsche GT grills.

Randomly discovered this while killing time online - https://www.customcargrills.com/prod...Pors-991-2-GTS

Much cheaper than zunnsport, they look better imo, and the install looks very easy.

You really need all 4 (or 5) pieces not just 2.

I can see a bunch of crap still getting to the radiator w/o the 2 little sections covered.

Been thinking of doing this to my Base Carrera. Wish they had one of the non sport design bumper. Thanks for sharing.

Not sure that is an alternative because you only get two panels. A substantial reason for ordering the grills was to keep the area behind them free of litter, debris and leaves. While that is not an issue with the center section, it is with the two small sections adjacent to the center. Fine if you did it for looks but you're going to occasionally remove the two outside panels to clear and clean your radiators.

I don't think one needs to remove the panel to clean. I'm pretty sure you can reach from the smaller opening. I also believe they'd block 70%+ with just outside.

And yes - part of it is the looks.

I purchased the full kit like yours. But I ended up not covering the small inlets next to the center after about a month of having full coverage. Hardly anything gets in there. I haven't had to clean mine with the two small inlets uncovered. Id say its about the same as all of them covered in my experience so far.

Really? I had no idea people were doing this -- care to explain?

Sure! Mack everything off real well (I used newspapers, which are those pieces of paper with news printed on them with ink, for the younger crowd) and blue painters tape to leave just the far left and right openings open. Then I just put a few light coats of flat black on the radiators as they are silver and stand out otherwise.

These are Rennline grills on a 991.1 sport design w/o center radiator. And after 110,000 miles they sure took a beating but nothing got through.

Painting the radiators (cheap rattle can) is just cosmetic....... when you look into the bumper it makes it look like a black hole.

There are some older threads (6+ years ago) on doing screens on 991.1 cars with some good DIY's as well.

I like the rennlines but I don't want a bumper off install process.

Aah - makes sense. Would it affect the performance of the radiator? I think I'll leave mine as is.

I didn't see any difference in temps.

Likewise, nor have any of the others here that have painted them. Strictly cosmetic of course but I am a sticker for the little details so things like that are important to me.
