Recent issue -
  • Left dynamic engine mount failure. Pretty easy DIY fix and paid about $1500 with tax for the part at the dealership. Seems like this is somewhat common (especially left/driver side).

Past issues (under warranty) -
  • “Ignition ECU” failed and drained battery a couple weeks into owning the car (early 2017).
  • Needed windshield replaced since the rubber edge melted and turned into goo (they refused to change rear even though it exhibited the same issue in a smaller area).
  • Air-oil exchanger needed to be changed.
  • Rear hood struts.
Why couldn't just the windshield seal be replaced? They entire glass had to be replaced?
Rear hood? Do mean engine lid cover?

This is due to failing window regulators, very common. I had both of the rear window regulators replaced already on my cab. 1st one at 25k miles, second one at 35k miles.

this time vacuum line issue it appears that there is a problem with the original crossover valves of which there are up to eight in certain cars with PDK
this time having purchased an top of the line extended warranty I thought I was in the clear. Extended warranty which says it covers everything but maintenance said vacuum lines are hoses and they will not cover. Porsche refuses to address what is quite a common problem as I could find in the threads. $2500 job of which I am on the hook for. Love my car don't wanna play the game of the ADM at this time so I am going to eat the cost. That should be the end of the story except Porsche can't send parts and when they do they send used broken parts and expect them to be installed. Has now been a month. Went to visit last week with my new toy that actually I got a rebate on for being a crossover customer
Was the problem the COV valve itself or the vacuum lines going to the valves? My indy was able to replace all 8 of my COV valves under my extended warranty (Fidelity) with no issues.

I would first check the blinker fluid. But a PDQ transmission sounds delicious…

I liked PDQ better. Seriously, there’s a mile long thread in the 997 forum you can read. Quick and to the point…who knows? Probably a distance sensor.

Agree - it is likely a faulty sensor. A car in our club had the same issue.

Adding to this link. Have a 2018 Carrera T with over 7K miles. Replaced rear deck lid struts as well as front windshield and rear glass due to high wear of window strips - all done under warranty. I did experience unusual slow start this morning but no CELs...

Try a battery tender. Might take a day or two to fully charge.

My understanding is that if you drive the car regularly there is no need for a battery tender. I drive it every week on 1-2 occasions for 40-50 miles. Pls correct me if its a wrong assumption.
