Good afternoon, wanted to share some pics and findings from my setup that I just installed over the weekend. Sadly my pics stink(satin black wheels don’t help) as far as seeing the definition of the wheels. I hope to get some better pics this week when I take the car out.

Trying to show the subtle rear concavity

The big reason for the move to these wheels is that I was in need of rear tires for my stock wheels at just shy of 14,000 miles. I am down to 3/32nds on my stock rear tires and 5-6/32nds on the front. I was thinking of buying a new set of p-zero's for the rear but decided to see if I could find a set of used wheels and tires that may work instead. I ended up getting a great deal on these FF04's and the rears had 5/32nds and the fronts had 5-6/32nds for the front. Still not much better than my stock setup, but not horrible considering the price I paid. I had to purchase TPMS sensors for the HRE's as I didnt want to transfer my stock ones-I ended up getting a new set from Ebay for $160 and paid $40 to have my local shop install them.

I guess they are different from 991.1 to 991.2 as I bought a set for 991.2. The 991.1 set was a few dollars less and different part number

I paid extra for the black set. Silver was standard

The other plus for me swapping the wheels is weight savings. I always said that I like the OEM look alot-so the only way I would swap is to save weight. Thankfully I save a few lbs on the rear vs stock. The front-not so much but in the end I was still able to save weight overall.

Saved 4.31 lbs each on the rear and gained just under 1 lb on the front. Just over 6.6 lbs saved overall. In the end, I think I evened out on the front as I removed my 15mm spacers that I was using on the front and to a 5mm spacer. I assume I saved at least 1lb there as the extended lugs for the spacers were considerably more heavy than the stock lugs. Per willtheyfit.com, for the front sit 2.4mm closer to the suspension strut and 10.4mm out futher than stock(poke). Now these wheels sit the same way my stock wheels with 15mm spacers fit. (20x8.5 et 49 stock vs 20x9.0 et 45 HRE) For the rears they sit 17.4 further from the suspension strut and 4.7mm out futher than stock(poke) (20x11.5 ET 76 stock, 20x11.0 ET 65 HRE). I didnt mind going to a 11 inch wide wheel on the new setup as it saves some weight and runs the same tire size.

15mm spacer and lugs I removed-if anyone wants a good deal on them shoot me a pm!

One thing I noticed is that even though the tires are the same type and size (Pirelli P-Zeros), my stock tires were N1 rating while the ones on the HRE are N0 rating. No difference in the front, but for the rear the N0 tire has more of a meaty look (partially due to 1/2 inch narrower wheel on the HRE). The sidewalls are definitely more rounded on the N0 spec vs the N1 spec. To me the N1 spec for the rear has the tire more square and slightly stretched (partially due to the wider wheel). Anyone notice the same? Also, the N1 spec is supposed to be a little lighter than N0 but I cannot say for sure.

N1-slightly stretched/rim protector?

N1 another angle

N1

N0. Notice the more rounded sidewall?

I also cleaned and ceramic coated the wheels before putting them on. For coating I used cquartz d lux. Simple to do, the hardest part was cleaning the wheels inside and out. I cleaned them twice and coated them twice.
definitely darkens up the black a bit and gives some more depth.

The wheel in the forefront is not coated-the one in the back is.

Coated the barrels also. Should help with cleaning the nasty rotor rust issues after washing the car

And last but not least-tied in some acid green accents to match the calipers and the rest as well as ceramic coated the center caps. Thinking of doing an acid green rim stripe on the outer edge of the wheel to break up the black...thoughts?

My buddy just got those wheels on his 991 as well. I think they look great. Nice upgrade!

Really not bad for the price-even new they run under $2500. If I was to buy new, I would buy the silver version-I hear they look stunning in person! If I keep these for a while, I may powdercoat them a dark bronze color to highlight some of the effects.

Thanks @Aatish yours is the only other .2 that I have seen on the forums with the same wheels. Most others are 991.1's. Any other 991.2 owners running this setup?
