Default 2019 4 GTS AC issue

Today was a nice sunny day in the Denver area. I was driving around and turned the AC on. First I started hearing a quiet squealing noise that did not stop and no cold air. Tried AC mode and then AC MAX mode. Nothing changed. Same low volume squealing noise and the air temp was the same as what was blowing without AC mode. Turning off AC mode made the squealing noise stop. I tried AC on and off a few times but nothing changed.

Any thoughts? Thanks

I don’t know what the issue is but just take it to the dealership since you have warranty. No point in trying to figure it out unless you just have a lot of time to ponder things.

Yes. It's broken.
Take it to the dealer. Why do you want to try and figure it out and be without AC.?

When was the last time you used the AC? Mine comes on automatically when I start the car but considering it is somewhat warm here all the time I am ok with it. In the old days such symptoms pointed to a worn or slipping belt connected to the motor.

Your problem could be totally different, however, I had similar symptoms. As it turned out, a rock hit the AC condenser and created a small hole where all of the R-134A leaked out. I had no idea until the AC did not produce cold air. The dealership said that since it was from "road debris," the warranty would not cover it. The DIY wasn't that difficult and it cost me about $300 and a Saturday when all was said and done. You be able to make an insurance claim if the warranty doesn't work out and you do not want to DIY it.

It certainly could be that as well. My understanding is that the AC compressor is a swash plate system instead of a traditional clutch system. So, there's a few different possibilities as well.

I scheduled a service appointment prior to posting here. Of course I’m taking it to the dealer since the car is under warranty. Just wondering what the issue could be based on what others have experienced in the past. I’m just curious that way. Thanks

My bet is a punctured condenser from road debris...I have been afraid of this on my car-did mesh grills to mitigate it a bit (with my luck something will still make it through).

Rennline grill screens have been on the car for the last 2000+ miles. Don’t know will let the dealer get it sorted.

Why the low squealing noise?

Another reason for Zunsport grills, had this happened on prior 911. First mod on GTS was grills and clear side marker

The GTS has HUGE holes with open arms guiding in whatever is in front of the car. Kind of crazy to have such large openings. Grill screens are a must.

This the reason why grills are a must, and they look good, too!

The grill inserts are so worth the money for some extra added protection and piece of mind.

I'm really surprised there hasn't been more radiator damage reported on the forums.

Do you where the compressor is located in the car?
