Default Question about PCM Version 3.1 on 991.1

Hi,

on my 991.1 C2 is PCM Version 3.1 installed from factory. The sub-version (Verbundversion) is V4.63.
My question is that the latest (and greatest) version my Porsche will be getting?
When I press on "Historie" (history) there are not entries. I bought the Porsche used.
I did try a search on version history but did not find any info.
The PCM runs great, so there is no urgent need to change anything. I'm just curious.
Thank you in advance for any insights!

Does anyone know if the upgraded versions of PCM still default to tuner when the car is started? I want it to default to Bluetooth.

Mine is v4.41

There is an iso file posted at the link below that you can use to burn a disc with the latest version (4.76):

This only happens to me when I'm streaming bluetooth. It'll stay on CD or Jukebox or whatever through power-off, but not BT.

Hi All,

When I used the .ISO and updated the PCM 3.1 it shows it at software version 3.43. The log shows that it performed a software load, but I am unsure if I may have done something wrong to not get it to 4.76.

Thanks!

+1

Not only does it switch to the tuner, but it goes to FM. I never listen to FM radio.

My experience with PCM updates is that they change nothing in terms of PCM function. They tend to fix connection errors and other issues, but nothing else.

3.43 is the highest version for early 991.1, 2012.5 and 2013. If your PCM doesn’t have the jukebox you are on the early version and you can’t go higher than 3.43

Hi Amet,

I guess that answers it for me since my 991.1 is a 2013 model year. So knowing that, are there any limitations in the PCM module as far as getting maps or is that out of the picture due to my hardware?

Thanks!

maps? You mean updates for the navigation maps?

not sure , mine are still original from 2011/12 and I didn’t bother updating it since I have installed CarPlay module

Hi Amet,

Which version of CarPlay did you install into your 991.1? I was looking to do that once my CPO runs out but am currently seeing what is out there for it.

Thanks!

I got the one from Nick, https://www.nmautomotive.co.uk/ , but the older/wired version that was available then. You get wireless one nowadays for the same price.

look for a big thread on this forum about it
