Had that happen to my old Panamera, went from constant rebooting every 5 mins to literally crashing every 10 secs. The dealer tried putting software update but didn't clear, in the end they had to replace the PCM unit under warranty.
The unit started crashing because you were "IN The Gulf of Mexico". Had you not been IN water, it would have never crashed. I have lived a few miles from The Gulf of Mexico. Since I have never been IN The Gulf of Mexico but ON The Gulf of Mexico, my PCM has always been untouched (lol).

Do a google search for the update CD part number. First couple links all selling the disc for under a buck.
I ordered this CD WKD-952-800-17onlineand while the order went through, I got a response back that there is no stock and Porsche has withdrawn this disk. Why would Porsche withdraw this CD? Is there a newer disk out there?

No idea. I got mine from Pelican Parts. Happy to make an ISO of it & throw it up somewhere if you want to make a copy of it. I assume that will work....
Thank you! I checked Pelican Parts - the no longer have the disk WKD-952-800-17; I was able to buy WKD-952-800-16 which i suspect gets me to version 4.75 - hopefully that gets me out of the reboot issue. But if you have an iso version of the 4.76 disk i could give that a shot - is there any risk by using an iso image based disk to update the firmware?

If you post an ISO of the CD let us know. Haven’t had too many problems, just occasional weirdness such as no sound that was solved by restarting PCM.

Hate to revive an old thread, but did anything ever come of this? I'm in need of the 4.76 upgrade CD but every place I check says they're discontinued and not available. If someone posted an ISO up somewhere that could be used to make an upgrade that would be great. Feel free to PM me if needed. OR, if anyone has a CD they'd be willing to rent/share/loan, etc.?
Purchased 2014 cab in May 2018 and drove until Oct without PCM issues. Put the car in storage(with battery tender) in Oct and took it out of storage in April 2019. Car started immediately but radio started an on/off routine and No CD operation, No maps. Dealer replaced PCM under CPO and said it was bad hard drive and common issue.
My issues appear to be related to the DVD drive. Navi works fine, as well as radio and AUX inputs. Oddly, it seems that if there's an issue with the DVD, it affects bluetooth and USB functionality. The DVD drive is a Fujitsu unit that is relatively easy to swap out, but finding a replacement is proving to be a challenge (part number 02321068, it's a DV-05-35 drive for future reference). I need to try giving it a thorough cleaning, but I'm doubting that's the issue as the car has under 20k miles. Some of the components in these PCMs are shared in many other makes and models, from Toyota, Chrysler, Audi, etc., and it might eventually be cheaper for me to buy an entire Toyota or Chrysler PCM just to rob the DVD drive (Porsche "tax" is high!). The hard drive is a standard 2.5" Toshiba 100GB SATA drive like you find in a laptop, which can easily be cloned to a 120GB SSD (Navi loads faster, and SSD drives offers better reliability). If you're relatively computer savvy and plan on keeping your car beyond a CPO warranty, it would make sense to clone the drive and keep an image handy for when it fails (and it WILL eventually fail). Not a big job, and a 120GB drive is $20.
SWV 4.76 DVD part #WKD-952-800-17. You can get this from the dealer for about $20 and update it yourself. Just put the disc in and follow the prompts. Dealer may do it for free, but probably not.
You can also press the INFO?SOURCE button together to learn alll sorts of things about your PCM history and status.
If you want the update for free just stop in your local dealer and tell them your PCM is turning off on its own and they will ensure you have the latest SW, for free.
Any time I hear about iPhone “connection” issues, first thing I always think of is cleaning out the lint from the lightning connector.
Get a pin and a bright light on a magnifier and see if you can prise out any hunk in there. I did this last year and was absolutely astonished at how much packed in material I got out of that tiny connector.
edit: just checked my phone again, I literally just dug (very very carefully of course) all this Schmutz out of my iPhone jack:
