Default 991.2 GTS - No Sunroof

All,

Thinking about a 991.2 GTS that is well optioned but does not have a sunroof. My concern is how this will potentially impact resale down the road. What do you guys and gals think?

Thanks

Unlikely, in my opinion. I'd check if it's not a PSDS car. Telltale are 18 way seats, PDCC and PCCB.

I read through the article and couldn't determine how to tell if the car is a PSDS car.(other than the miles) There are actually two cars I am interested in one has PCCB the other does not.

Is this a private seller, indy dealer or at Porsche dealer.

Does the car have complete service history, how many miles?

Check the color of the calipers, hard braking temps will discolor them. The PTX GTS models had lug nut wheels, not center locks, so may be a telltale as well.

If the car is at a dealer, they have a duty to disclose its origin. BTW, Porsche Experience and PTX (formerly PSDS) cars are allegedly auctioned off, per the school personnel.

Hardtop cars appear to be low production models, they are scarce on both the new and used markets. Found that out when I was shopping for a hardtop 911. I ended up ordering my hardtop over a year and half ago.

Hardtop or no, resale depends on the buyer's desires.

Does the car have complete service history, how many miles? Yes and it has 3k miles

Thanks answers are inline with your questions

What's the color on the model with PCCB? Does it have PDCC as well? No steering wheel controls?
One can always ask. See the carfax when and with how many miles the car was ticketed

There's currently 7 PEC cars for sale that I have found. 4 Guards Red with MSRP of $146,080. 3 Racing Yellow with MSRP or $145,120 (I might be missing one). They are all spec'ed exactly the same and have 8-15k miles with no previous owner on the car fax. The GR cars are PDK and the RY cars are manual.

I've been toying the with idea of trading my '17 Carrera S and picking one up if the price is right. My issue is going to be the state of the PCCB rotors. One dealer was kind enough to measure them for me, and they were ~65% used.

To answer your question on the sunroof. I don't think it matters. I prefer no sunroof and I'm trying to look for cars without them; however, other people definitely want it. Flip a coin.

The sunroof thing can go either way, I know some car enthusiasts want a car without it and find it a very special find.

If the car has 3k miles, it's not likely that it was a PTX fleet car. Those cars have more use on them than that.

Do the due diligence, if it's all there and the price is right, you may have a winner.

Make sure you check when the warranty was punched.

Good luck.

Re sunroof.

There's no way I would buy any 911 of any variety with a sunroof.

I ordered my GTS without a sunroof. Wouldn’t have it any other way. I like the clean look and no squeaks down the road. To each his own.

My GTS has almost every option except a sunroof, I would definitely order one this way again.

I bought one without a sunroof and specifically looked for one spec'd without one.
