I want the car to have great realiablity and I also want the car that will look new and not dated for the longest. I have saved up for a very long time and have all my finances in order to deal with any repairs, but I would like any advice on if one of these cars will have more problems then the others. I am going to be buying one of these cars in the next couple months and I need oppinions from as many forums, friends, and professionals as possible. At the end of the day I am looking for the car that is the most fun with a good mix of not being dated quickly or being unreliable. I will be keeping this car for 5 to 7 years and my max budget is about $65,000 but I would feel better spending around $45,000 to $50,000 which would pretty much leave me with just the M4 as an option. Would the c63 amg s or the 911 991 really be worth the extra cash?
Reading this post.

I would find a new M2 Competition. It will age fine and the S55 motor is very reliable. If you don't need four doors why not get the smaller M2?
The M2cs has softened the pricing on the M2competion, so you will have room to bargain.
You can also order a new one to your exact tastes. Good luck!

JMO, YMMV.....

The M2's are nice but for some reason they just don't give me the same excitement as a 911 or M4.

I get about $130,000 in a year and a half from now from getting 1/3 of the trust, once I get that I'll pay off the rest of my car. I also was left a house that the land has quadroupled in value and is worth about $2,000,000 according to multiple realistate agents and should be selling in the next 1 to 3 years, I've been getting lots of low ball offers. When the house does sell I'll be buying my mother her own house and also a house for myself, and putting the rest in stocks and bonds. At the moment I have zero debt and live in this house with my mom because I'm to frugal to pay $1500 a month for a appartment lol.

So I am in a good position to buy a nice car but I am trying to control my self and put a limit of between $40,000 to $65,000. I don't feel like im spending to much on a car for my situation but maybe my mental grasp on how hard it is to earn money is not completely right since I in all honesty inherited everything I have. This might be to much info but I figured it would put my mental thought process more into perspective for people so I don't sound like I'm over extending myself to much. I listen to a lot of Dave Ramsey financial advice and stuff but it only helps so much.
Gotcha I understand your thought process. I think then you'll be in a good position to buy something in the 50-65K range. Itll be the only debt youll have for some time and should likely be paid off in 2-3 years since half if being put down up front. I think at this point I would go and test drive all three. I also think that you'll end up in a 911 from the driving experiences and one thing I wouldnt do is get the bottom of the barrel no option 911 over a great spec BMW/Merc.

I think your right. I'm probably going to wait for a CPO 911 or a 911 from CARMAX since I can get the 90 day or 4,000 mile waranty with the max care extended service plan. I'm very weary of buying a car from out of state from a non porsche dealership it seems like to much hastle and a decent ammount of risk.

I've owned two AMG cars. The CLS55 and SL55...both with incredible build quality, speed, grip, and unfortunately...weight.

I now own two 911's: 2012 GTS 6spd and 2015 GTS cab PDK.

My favorite car is my Alfa Giulia QV...hands down. It does everything incredibly well. It feels as small and light as a Lotus...tossable like the old E46 M3 I loved so much. The reason I didn't want a new M3 is the ride.....It's ALWAYS stiff. This thing rides like a Mercedes until I flick the switch to psychopath mode then the fun starts.

And the Alfa engine is so friggin FAST and has so much TORQUE. But Ferrari knows how to design a chassis and build an engine. Then they did something smart: They used the ZF 8HP transmission which means I have a car that I can drive the snot out of and not worry about it breaking. The early cars had some software hiccups....since solved. I'd buy one of their "buyback" cars if th price was right. Simply not worried about it. Go to the Giulia forums and look for REPEATING problems that are REAL. Not much there. My Alfa has been 100% perfect. My Porsche? New trans and delaminating headlights replaced,,,and illuminated door sill replaced.

A test drive just doesn't explain it. It's so communicative and fun. And beautiful. And cheap.

Default be honest

Tell the dealer you still dont know which car you want. Thats not being a dick, its watching out for your own self interest (which any used car salesman is bound to appreciate).

I don't know if test driving a car I'm not interested in buying is a dick move or not. Maybe I could test drive a 911 and then tell the dealership to keep their eyes open for a 911 991 under 65k with under 30,000 miles on it with a clean carfax.

I had a 2017 M4 cab 6MT. Great car and lots of fun. Sold if after a year. Just got a bit bored and there are a lot of them out there. I looked and drove the C63s. Seems like a really nice car too. Great exhaust note. Better options than the M4 - ACC and ventilated seats.

I'm happy I made the change to the 991. Much more of special car. Absolutely better resale value.

One thing I love about 911's is you can be doing 70 and it feels like 100. My M cars you can be doing 100 and it feels like 50.

Good luck.

I guess my question is does the competition package make that much of a difference?

I'm still looking for 911 991's but it's hard to find any in my budget of 65k max that are under 30,000 miles with a clean carfax.
Hmmm. I advertised my ‘17 991.2 C2 on Rennlist. It was a manual transmission, nicely optioned, and was asking $70K. No sale, so I traded it for $64 K to the dealer. You might want to place a notice of what you want in the classified section. There may be others like me that would have rather it went to an enthusiast here.

They sold my car for $80k.

At that price point it can't be beat”

Excellent idea on this MB!!! For another car, I’ve done some looking at these as well. What a statement car. Moved on to searching for 993s though.

Your price point needs to go higher for a 991. BTW, I’d add a 997 turbo to you list or even 997.2 S. I think newer 911s are fine daily drivers, particularly with PDK.
