Replacing the canvas rag top?
Has anyone replaced the canvas rag top on their 991?
I have a 2013 C2S cab with 79k miles, the roof is starting to look very worn and I assume in the not too distant future it will need replaced...

A couple people here have had it done. All in, IIRC, was about $7,500.
My 2014 top looks as good as new. RaggTopp every other year for the win. +73,000 miles. Sticky tape roller every week or two. Never washed with soaps.

That’s not correct, the fabric segment is available as a replacement without the mechanism. I have had mine replaced as well.

Whether Ragtop or 303, rather than spraying and having to deal with taping off surrounding areas, I pour the magic elixir into a separate container and brush it on using a soft bristle brush. No overspray issues and I know that every nook and cranny has been treated.

I used 303 and did a poor job on covering the surfaces (9 year old daughter wasn't patient enough with the "hard" work portion of the covering) -- it took a long time slowly cleaning up all the surfaces (glass, rubber, paint) with 70% and 90% alcohol. 303 was still on the glass and even the detailing guy was confused how to clean it (wasn't coming off) -- I would strongly suggest covering every possible surface and spend the time doing that vs dealing with overspray.
As far as replacing the top, haven't had to do it on the 991.1 but I was able to get a 996 replaced with an upholstery shop (Prestige Companies in Anaheim, CA) and Eric (owner) is pretty awesome. Even got a glass window which is not how the original 996 had it.
Eric just changed driver side leather seat on my 991.1 -- bolster was in pretty bad shape with entry/exit butt scrape

Do you have the light scrape marks toward rear sides? I haven’t see a cab without this. Even a new cab in a showroom was developing these marks.

I am familiar with what you are describing. Sometimes I see these crease marks, but they disappear after the top is closed for a period of time, and really goes away after some sunlight (heat) hits it. I'd much rather deal with these marks, than prior cabriolet tops from the 996 and 997 series that had those annoying rib marks from side to side from the inner support structure. The 991 cabriolet is much improved; shape, contour, and sound deadening when closed.
