Default Differences between factory new car warranty & CPO

Looking at some 991s between 2017 - 2019 MY. All under 30k miles. What benefit does CPO have over the factory new car warranty for a second owner beyond the unlimited mileage for a car this ‘young’?

As far a I know a CPO is an extension of the factory new car warranty. Coverage is the same.

https://www.porsche.com/usa/approved...ures/warranty/

The factory warranty is limited to 50k miles here in the US the CPO has no limit.

As above.

I can only think of a couple additional things: The CPO car will have gone through the 111 point mechanical and cosmetic inspection as part of the process. And, approximately 45 days after the sale, PCNA sends you a welcome kit of "stuff" including a nice letter, "World of Porsche" booklet, Porsche ink pen, and warranty "credit card" in a nice cardboard presentation case.

If the dealer actually does the inspection - lots of reports here of owners finding things that the CPO inspections should have found.

If still under original factory warranty, the CPO adds two more years and as has already been said, moves the warranty mileage limit to unlimited. If the original warranty has already expired, a CPO can still be done under certain conditions, 2 more warranty years of unlimited mileage. Those are three benefits of the Porsche CPO.

Besides what everyone else said, there is one important difference: CPO does not cover what Porsche deems cosmetic issues. Trivial, right? Well, rattles are considered cosmetic.

I’ve found that a lot depends on your relationship with the dealer and the dealer itself. If you’re a jackass, or they are, there could be problems. I’ve had dealers make magic happen with all three CPO 911s.

“Don’t worry, we’ll take care of it. Enjoy the (primo) loaner.”

Last service visit I had I brought in a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts for "the guys". I am pretty sure it was appreciated.

it’s never been an issue for me, maybe this one is dependent on the service center?

If you are comparing a new 2019 to a used 2017, you will unlikely have the benefit of the lemon law in your state for a CPO model. But of course, if the car passed a CPO inspection, its unlikely a lemon. Just don't buy any of Nick Murray's old cars.

Agree with this, it has also been my experience.

A service writer can make magic happen depending on the words he chooses to use.

These cars are VERY reliable, that said I've always owned one under B2B or in CPO.
When something breaks its crazy expensive
just like maintenance costs aka brake pads, rotors etc

I expect fresh pastries and hot coffee in the customer lounge. If I get offered Krispy Kreme doughnuts I would find another dealer.
