I'll be keeping my 991 for a while...

Agreed, can’t believe the 911 has gone so far to join the trend of fake exhaust tips. That’s a non-starter right there. I believe I heard or read somewhere their claim was they did this to reduce the cost for repair in a rear end accident. I’m sure insurance companies will be reducing premiums on brand new 911s due to that “feature”.
To put it bluntly. I’d rather have my pdk fail when my warranty runs up on my 991 and fork over $20k cash, than pay the $20/25k more for a comparable new C2S. This also assumes a dealer will pay me MSRP for my trade with a broken pdk.

I’m not a huge fan of the 992 interior but one passed me at night on the freeway a couple of days ago I must say that rear light bar looks fantastic at night!

I agree - the squared off hood just doesn't work for me. Yes, it is an ode to the past but it just doesn't work, for my taste. The 911 is famous for it curves. The sharpness of the front hood does not work with the otherwise rounded contours of the car. I feel fortunate to have one from each 991 generation, both NA, of course. I'm done buying cars.

I have been entertaining an upgrade to the 991.2 S or GTS from my base. No interest in paying for the premium of a 992 at this point. My current ride is the first off the lot car I purchased in my life. It is not a matter of money but rather value - cannot see myself doing it again for the 992.

Given my open disdain for turbo motors (to those who own them, it's not you it's your car and yes they are faster..blah blah blah), I'm either looking at keeping my slow as hell 991.1GTS or stepping up to a GT car (assuming those stay NA).

Interesting article.
Seems like there isn't much difference as far as the drive, with a nod to the 991 for better overall driver's experience.
I bought a 991.2 shortly after the 992 was released because I wasn't a fan of the 992 design (specifically the rear and somewhat the interior). And I've seen and sat in a 992 in person and still find the rear awkward.

Saw my first 992 in the wild today - Agate Grey Carrera S Cab (SPASM) - I have to say, I liked it. I do think the darker colors do better, probably because the hard lines are a bit more hidden. I also think the SPASM helps the proportions look a bit better - it was low and wide and cool, a proper 911 :-)
That said, the Carrera T still does it better - the lines are just more organic.
cheers!

I purchased a 991.2 C2s custom order way back in May 2016 and am still super happy with the car. The power is good enough and the handling is superb. Ordered all the handling bells and whistles and very glad I did. I have nothing against the 992 except the square hood which I think clashes with the lines of the car. Are there really fake exhaust tips? Wow! Would not expect that on a 911. One of the appeals is that the features the car has are there for an engineering reason. I dunno. I love my 911 and am a member of PCA, but am feeling like I will hold on to my car for a very long time and may not get another Porsche. Who knows! I think I went through the more power and faster phase with bikes so kind of got that out of my system. After three and a half year, my 911 still ticks all the boxes just fine! Sorry Porsche! You made the car too good!
