In the pre nannies era, AWD was a big advantage, now, if you leave the nannies on, the safety advantage is not as great. I will say, if you mash it in first in a RWD the traction control may (or will depending on what you are driving, tires, conditions) which is a downside to RWD. Traction helps if for no other reason than saving the rear brakes.

post 964, the 4 handles very close to a 2.

personally, I don’t care so much one way or the other, but the additional cost of a 4 used is not much so used I like 4 and new I get RWD. YMMV.

I was referring to the 911 but thanks for letting me know I needed to spell it out for you. I have no interest in a RWD 911.

There is no suitable AWD Mustang available at this time. If there was I would have one. 275 Pros and proper suspension geometry on the Mustang do make it seem like AWD at the drag strip.

If it helps, my F150 is 4WD.

My Model T is RWD, though.
