Here’s mine up. At 80mph it's very vertical. So is this installed incorrectly! The red GTS wing looks SO much better. I'll be calling my dealer tomorrow to get this fixed. Thank you for pointing this out OP!!! And to the red GTS! Gorgeous car BTW.

I believe the height is set by the computer, not the hole position.
Just like cars with sunroofs have two difference wing angles depending upon whether the sunroof is open or not.
Dealer has to code it for the right wing design.

When I noticed this, at the dealership, I asked the parts guy for a quote on the wing and install. The install was over three hours long. Having already removed mine, I knew that it only takes a few minutes to unscrew and put back on so I asked him what was involved.

I pointed out the GTS outside and asked if it was programming. He looked at the install procedure and told me that there was no programming and said that the rear bumper needs to be removed to access the mechanism to adjust something. I know he’s not a mechanic so I didn’t ask for more info.

I really thought the hinge pins were screws but it now looks like they’re most likely rivets and that annoys me because half the fun of getting new parts in the install. Yes, I’ve too many Lego sets, I know.

Love the look of the rear wiper, the one option box I wished I had checked!

P
I had a look and it appears that my brackets are hinged from the same holes, it’s difficult to photo but the rivets are in the top two holes, there’s a small hole that’s also open on mine in the same spot below the lower rivet. Let us know the outcome at the dealership.

Thanks for posting that! Im left wondering where this 2nd hole mounting idea came from? From the looks of things; it seems that the change must be from PWIZ. I found the 991.1 SD spoiler install and it clearly mentions something about setting PWIZ for SD spoiler and front bumper. That makes me feel like there is in fact a PWIZ tweak.

And to further complicate things. I left my wing up on accident when I parked. And I pressed the button for it to go down and it moved down 1" (car was off, power was on) and looks exactly like the RED GTS's spoiler. So I will call my dealer and ask them about the PWIZ program. If they play dumb, or dont know about it. I will show them the 991.1 SD install that shows the PWIZ settting to change. They will most likely want to plug the car in and look so who knows when I will get this done. But its on the radar of things to get done now.

I clearly remember that the dealership told me it was a 3-4 hour job to install, from their manual, because the mechanism had to be set to the low position.

i asked about programming and he looked at it again and said “no, there’s nothing in here about programming”.

the wing in low position when the motor is off, I’ve done that many times. It’s weird that we can even do that because that’s not a position in which it works as we drive.

Interesting. Well I am going to bring this up to my dealer and show them this in the 991.1 SD spoiler install instructions. I suspect the 991.2 has the same settings they need to tweak. Im thinking this is software based only.

This is timely as I just ordered this as well! I noticed no one here has mentioned the “lower spoiler” (which I’m told is necessary as well - C2/C2S 991-504-205-26, or C4/C4S 991-504-205-27). Finally, have you guys reviewed this - https://rparts-sites.s3.amazonaws.co...%20Package.pdf

Watching this to learn what I have to do

It’s just what the guys at getporscheparts.com told me I might need but, if you look at the instructions it actually says the cutoff date was from the 45th week of 2016 (will require that new spoiler). That happens to be from November 7th on...sorry for the confusion but might be relevant for early builds

Man, that’s awesome. Thank you.

So, it looks like the height adjustment might be in the programming, after all. 🤦

It looks like the parts guy at the dealership was full of s#ite.

When driving, only a tap of the button is required to put down the spoiler. When parked you need to hold the button while it completely retracts. Did you tap the button and it stopped when released?
