Has anyone seen this color combination? If so what are your thoughts on it? I’m considering a 2017 Targa 4S with this. I saw that it is not a Porsche recommended combination in the 2017 911 brochure but from the pictures i have seen, it looks quite good to me. Targa top is black.
Thanks for for your input. And yes, my first post.
That's a lot of red. Good news is you should be able to get a good price because of that color combo - lowball them and work from there.
Bad news is except some resistance on trade-in pricing down the road. Red on red cars are generally a hard sell and most dealers balk at taking them in trade, so it comes back to you as a lower offer.
Unfortunately, the dealer is very proud of the car as it is hard, hard loaded ($179K MSRP) and he believes it is rare color combination making it more valuable. If I want it, i'll likely have to wait him out.
A silver Targa with the Bordeaux/Black interior is classic Porsche and is stunning! But a carmine red with that interior is rare for a reason - it's ugly and will be a hard sell.
It looks really nice and with the black dash and upper door trim, you do not get over powered with red looking at it. The classic chrome window surround also helps accent the lines. This one works IMO.
Our carmine red 911S has a black interior. The exterior color was a big selling point (over 3K$ list) but
it needed a contrasting interior color or I would have walked. Just me.
[QUOTE=drcollie;16140377]When you get that much red, you need a pole.

When I ordered my Carmine Red GTS I didn't even want the Guards Red contrasting stitching inside. It just seemed to me that any red inside the car just made it look like you were trying too hard.
I love the Carmine Red too (and the build) which is why I am interested in this particular car. But it might be too much red and the reds might not work together.
My personal... This just does not look right to me. Two different reds and lack of contrast. I am not a fan, but then again, taste is a very personal matter and I would never criticize someones personal likes. Just not for me. My Lime Gold Metallic that I love is not for everyone either .

Reason: Typo
I think it looks great and I would not be ashamed to own it! Buy for yourself and not the next person, and remember that most buyers like Silver, Black or White so any flashy color is not appealing to them. Nevertheless, it would look even better if the center seat sections were Black, which you could do for not that much money. How many miles does it have and what are they asking?
