Lots of people have posted their frunk liner as one of the best accessories. I am trying to understand it. What type of objects may poke through and reverse dent your hood? I'm not judging but trying to understand as I can't imagine something I would carry that would do that, but so many people post that this is one of the best things they purchased

Believe it or not, but it can happen - have a metal tool or something with a sharp hard corner in a half full frunk and hit a pot hole or maybe a speed bump at night going too fast and that object can bounce up resulting in a reverse ding. Plus, for some, open frunk look better with it on. Better safe than sorry.

My 1st thought was you have got to be kidding!
But, my other cars all had trunk & hood liners of some type.
Also, seemed like it should cost a lot less to add that.
I had 2 basic questions:
1) Is it a real possibility to literally damage the exterior side of the Front lid. Can a moment of carelessness literally spoil the front top of this beautiful car, requiring you to spend thousands at a paint & body shop to fix? Or is it an extremely rare problem?
2) If I slammed the frunk lid down, on a sturdy, metal, pointy object... that was a couple inches too high to properly fit in the frunk, would this $200 piece of plastic stop it from denting or puncturing the frunk lid?

My car is a DD and goes on grocery and hardware runs on weekends. An image simlar to the one above was what drove me to get a hood protector. I'm not worried about closing the hood on something, I am worried about hitting a pothole or speedbump with the frunk partially full of something that would dent the hood. Likely to happen? Nah. Do I ever want to deal with it on the off chance it does? Nope. I also like the look.
In my first week of C4S ownership, had a close call with my tennis backpack. Handles sticking up but thankfully just a light hit. I put in the lid liner right quick!
I'm not concerned about any dimple(s). But, I do have concerns about abrading the underside paint from having the frunk very full with luggage and zippers from duffle bags and such. The bonus, is that it looks so much more finished. To each their own.

I have the frunk liner, but not the lid liner. In my case, I bought the liner after raw chicken juice leaked from my groceries into the carpet. Deodorizing that smell after a few days in the hot sun was not fun, so the liner ensures that it won't happen again.
